We were unfortunate to stay here when our flight from Nairobi was cancelled. Kenya Airways booked us in here and when we arrived at 2AM we were shown to the most disgusting filthy, dirty hovel of a room. The floor was filthy (after passing the vomit stains in the hallway), the bed sheets were stained, there was no toilet seat on the toilet, the electics were hanging off the wall, even some bare wires sticking out. We complained and refused to stay in the room. They agreed to find us a better room - which was equally filthy and dirty but they seemed to think having a toilet seat was a significant upgrade! The room was full of mosquitoes and we were bitten to death - even with the dirty net over the bed. Thankfully we had our own sleeping bags otherwise I would have left immediately - and probably should have done. I wasnt expecting to sleep well due to the condition of the room but in addition there was no sound proofing (probably due to the huge gaps around the external door frame) and the noise from outside of gangs reving their motor bikes and blasting music until 5am. Having survived the night we went down for breakfast - there was no choice, we were given a plate of food which we did not eat due to the serious hygene issues in the hotel. More concerning was when we complained to Kenya Airways about the accomodation they had placed us in - no one (including the duty manager) had ever heard of the hotel. Pleas avoid at all costs!
