My sister and I stayed here for a weekend in Nairobi - we had been travelling in Tanzania. Don't let its proximity to the new highway put you off, it's actually a very good location in the sense that we were able to walk pretty much anywhere we wanted to go easily. Of course, there are some places you might have to hire a driver to go to, but they have several on staff that are always available to drop you off somewhere or just give you directions if you're setting out on foot. My sister actually sprained her ankle while we were running around the city one day and the staff was wonderful - they provided us with a first aid kit and were really concerned with her comfort. The food at the restaurant is good and the room was clean and the lady at the front desk was helpful in giving us directions and suggesting times for us to leave for the airport and things of that nature. I would definitely recommend it, it's safe and the people are nice and it's close to the museum and the city center, if you're looking for things to see on a stop over in the city.
