“Good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2014

The surroundings are quite lush and you wouldn't think you're so close to the city. This establishment is ideal for a day out with friends or family. The food was okay and the service wasn't that bad either. That swinging bridge gives it all the marks. All in all, good place.

The approach to Rolf's Place is out of a movie...across a swinging bridge over a deep gorge separating the hotel from the National Park. The hotel itself is such a unique design full of interesting artwork and kitchy items from Rolf's life. Rolf's story, as documented in his autobiography that can be found in the hotel, is just as amazing as the hotel. The food was excellent, the staff was helpful and friendly and Sarah, the new owner, is brilliant. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us on our oddly long lay over making sure we had access to a shower before our midnight flight home.

If you do stay at Rolf's, make sure to leave plenty of time to visit the glass blowing shop and art center down the road. The art center and glass blowers studios are straight out of Alice in Wonderland. Much of the glass can be found at Rolf's.

Well, thought to have my birthday lunch at Rolfs Place we call to book we are told they are free so we walk in.

We ask for a table for two, we are told they don't have space we ask to sit on a free table we are told that the table only sits five.

We ask for a coke we are told they only have stony ... really?

Our take~ place looks unkempt, waiters are unprofessional, rude & can hardly communicate in English.

Bottomline ~ the drive isn't worth it ...

We had two nights at this place and it was wonderful. The room was big enough and the bathroom size was lovely only downside for the bathroom it's getting old and needs to get some face lift. No hot water bottles in the room at night and the place gets cold. Meals are good and they offer variety We loved their salads, breakfast and pepper steak. Service in the restaurant is impeccable and staff always willing to go an extra mile to offer personalized service. Thank you all and will surely be back

It was a nice surprise arriving in the evening at Rolfs Place: walking with our luggage at the suspension bridge! We arrived late, but that was no problem at all. We really felt welcome. We booked half board, and the table was waiting for us. We could choose everything from the menu and they didn't rush us, we had a nice dinner with good wine!
In the morning we enjoyed the view over the Nairobi National Park, wauw, what a great place!! Having breakfast at the terrace is a good way to start your day! The staff is really friendly and helpful. Everything is nicely decorated, nice garden and pool and the rooms are clean and neat (although the bathrooms are a bit oldfashioned).
The owner just passed away, but business went on. We really hope they can go on with Rolf's dream! Thanks for everything!!

The access to Rolf's place is a spectacular rope bridge over the gorge that this venue oversees. Amazing views over the Gorge and out over Nairobi National Game Park. The decor is unique as is the friendly personal service by Rolf. The choice of food was unusual but very tempting, and cooked fresh to order. Breakfast on the balcony over the Gorge is unmissable, with birdsong and cool breeze. Hearing the Lions and other park Animals at night was an added bonus. Not the cheapest, but positively my best African experience to date. Fully recommended!
