“The Place To Be In Nairobi”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

Hallo
Travellars and readers out there. This is my second time staying in this superb palace with my Family.I stayed here end of June and beginning of August this year.We loved it as usual. The front desk staff are overfriendly and kitchen products are very tasty because the chefs are doing a good job.breakfast has avariety and plenty.Soon or later we will be fed only with Comfort gardens products. The teamwork is amazing.Friendly and honest resident cab drivers for your back and forth movements in the surrounding and down town.Everyone is here to work. You might be served by the manager or your luggage might be dropped in your room by anyone who is around at that time. There is plenty of hot water and showers are very clean. When I had back problems,I requested an orthopedic matress and was bought the next day by Rose one of the lovely managers.I left when Wellness block was being built with sauna and a Fitness area. There will also be a huge conference room. The swimming area is great with a nice green compound for fulll relaxation. The clientel here are mixed races and are very exposed and friendly people who would always like not to stay in Big hotels with masses of people but more Family oriented enviroment. While security is a global issue that does not make one place more prone to others. This place is safe because of its client capacity and the gates to entry is manned well, being on UN Street. The owner himself is very aware and sensitive to security and safety issues and always ready for neccessary updates based on customer needs.Village shopping center is just five minute walk from the Hotel for your personal needs. Please always use pick ups and drop offs only with Hotel cabs.Remember to write your honest experinces to Trip advisor so that both the Hotel and the travellar can adjust anything where it is necessary.Feed backs dropped at the front desk will be worked on immediatly. The door locks are of international standards. Please look for other many ammenities that I have not mentioned here on the Hotel website. Thanks to the CEO, Patrick,The Manager, Rose,David,Eric,Kitchen crew,Front desk,Cab drivers and room service.Continue doing your good. work.We are definately staying here next time we are in Nairobi.Good luck and enjoy staying here while visiting Nairobi Kenya.

Room Tip: Family with kids need room with a kitchenette and the new built phase has very modern rooms.but smal...

I booked a room nearly three months in advance. When I arrived about 3pm in afternoon, they didn't have a room for me, and sent me off to the "annexe", which was a completely different place of a lower standard (e.g. no pool, restaurant, nice gardens etc, quite small room). At no stage did they offer to make up the difference in price between the two places. I spoke to another person in the annexe, who'd had the same happen to her a year or so ago, but she now stays in the "annexe" because it is friendlier.

Room Tip: I can't give any tips about the rooms, because I didn't get to see my room

We stayed here twice during our recent trip to Kenya. The first time, the room had been updated and was okay but the second stay the room was not nice at all. When we complained that the two types of rooms were not comparable and we should not have to pay the same price for both stays, they were not helpful. They fumbled around and we left not satisfied and would suggest you book carefully and you do not get the old rooms as they are not nice. The location is convenient to Village Market if that is not a concern after recent events in the city. The grounds around the unheated pool are definately the best feature. Breakfast is included and they do cook eggs at a station which is nice as they are then hot. We found the English service by the reception, front desk staff the poorest of all the hotels we stayed in during our three weeks. They also tried to charge us for charges from our first visit when we checked out from the second visit. Fortunately I had kept my receipt of payment. we would not stay again however if price dictates and you need a convenient spot just make sure you are not in old wing, terrible!

Room Tip: Do not take rooms not updated or in old wing!!!

I stayed only one night arriving late and leaving early the next morning. The staff were very helpful and accommodating and the room was very comfortable and clean. Overall very good value for money and a pleasant experience. The location was perfect for my needs being next to the Village Market and within walking distance of the UN office.

Although this is not a luxury establsihment, the venue is indeed comfortable and the service is friendly and enthusiastic. Within (real) walking distance from a major shopping centre, safe environment. Transfers done punctually. Good wifi, good food. Will stay here again.

We stayed just for 2 nights. The place is in a quiet and save part of the city. A driver from the hotel should pick us up from the airport but he never came. So we arranged are own transfer to the hotel. In the hotel stayed a lot of foreign guys who were working for the UN or some sort of organisation. Ouside the hotel, only a hunderd meters, there is a nice shopping mall with a lot of restaurants. So, you can go out in the evening without any problems. The rooms are good but no further luxury. A fair price for a good place.

We stayed here for 1 night July 12, 2013 prior to our safari and arrived late & left very early the next morning. It was a bit hard to find at night, and our cab driver had to pull over to ask for directions. A positive was that it is in a very secure location close to the UN headquarters and US embassy.

Once we arrived, we were so exhausted from 15+ hours of travel, that we ate a quick meal (which was great), and then went to bed right away. The grounds seemed pretty with a nice pool and surrounding lounge area - which we didn't have a chance to enjoy. Free WiFi was a big plus. Service from staff was excellent. We were impressed by the honesty of a waitress who served us dinner and returned our change the next morning at breakfast (not realizing it was a tip for her). We did have a bit of confusion of charging for our stay (which was already paid through Expedia), but once we showed our email confirmation, it was okay.

Our only qualm was that the walls were so thin, you could hear everyone nearby walking and talking since we were on the ground floor. The room we were in was average (definitely not the new executive room) and it suited our needs for a quick stay.

Overall, the hotel grounds & service were much better than actual room itself. For what we paid, we expected the room to be nicer. Not amazing value when all we needed was a comfortable bed.
