“"Just Chill........where else would you want to go"?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

The soft colour lounge's, small sometimes inconvenient bar, the fire place's, the balcony verandah and shaded pave complete this small homely restaurant ......that and their staff who are always well intentioned :) (To error is honestly human but it's the intent that justifies if the error is human or out of the self irresponsibility bag. If you are responsible to and for yourself, the same will be mirrored in what you do from the thought to action's :) )

There's absolutely nothing good not to write about The Moonflower. It's a wonderful place 95% of the time which in my book, not that I eat out all the time but out of all the restaurant's I have been to in my short life, she, Palacina...... (I prefer calling her palacina as oppossed to moonflower......it just fit's :) .........gives you an impression when you get in that it meet's with the greatest of ease. She say's "Home" on your firts visit. On your second visit and on, she say's "Your back" and with a smile...........like she's your warm favorite aunt :)

The only negative that really stands out is her parking - It's impossing on any driver and immediately takes away your whole experience only to get to the top of the small hill and go "wow","did we have to leave" or "I have to come back tomorrow"!!
You can't go wrong with Palacina (........Moonflower........it will always be Palacina to me)......come rain or shine, Palacina work's......................but it like the intended kiss goodnight can also drain you if you get it....................yeah, you guessed right - FULL. If you have shared time with someone you love, when your heart call's out her name and you proceed to where she stay's and get her with a guest, your heart almost goes dead. That's how special Palacina can get :)

So, don't ask the staff when she's available because you will get to know when I go and crowd my time with her :) ..............but It's advisable to, especially if you want to enjoy her quiet, which I must tell you is "Heavenly" ..............I once, and this was by sheer coincidence, watched a premier league match in one of the lounge's............I must say that though it was a very welcome gift to my early evening, the feeling to get into feet with sock's on the table was very overwhelming and served to tell two thing's. First, the place is that homely and two - "Go Home".
In short, the only thing that Palacina isn't is "My Home" - The place has everything but my name on the title deed which gives decorum authority to someone else. That courtesy is the only inhibitor at this restaurant :)

The food is good but the pricing isn't as balanced as the menu is.................The menu is wide :)

The only day you won't be happy with the food is when 'the sous's love didn't get to visit by the time she/he had promised to in the morning or when the chef find's out that the new waitress/waiter fancies someone else in the establishment more than he/her. It's rare but it happen's :)
But here's why you will still go back in the evening or the next day - She, Palacina, is like your favorite aunt - what won't you excuse from her - your heart's joy will be fulfilled - A wonderful, accomodative place where you can get lost in thought all by yourself.........'privacy in the city' .............................and the bar - it has every drink your tongue will crave to drink.

If you make the good mistake of going alone and get to have drinking chocolate, alone, in the lounge area................. and somehow, it starts raining - "I'm sorry, you are hooked"!!......please pray it wasn't just after 6:15pm. If it was I can almost guarantee that you bring every love you will ever have to this place................... and ask for drinking chocolate.

Aunty play's smooth jazz!! :) !! This special nail is the one you save for the hyena's coffin - "Bang"!! "Bang!!" "Bang!!"

Psssst.....I'm not being paid to say this, neither do I know the proprietor. I just feel in love with Palacina the first time I went there..........and every other time after that :)

If you can, pay her a visit...............preferably alone the first time so that you can know your boundaries before you take him or her there. She will give you every mood...................you just need to know her tide and how to enjoy it :)

She has never failed to get me a loving good night kiss ......."she's easy to warm and love in" :)

“Great Ambiance...Amazing Band!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

Had dinner with a friend & we had a good time.

Raves;
- Great hostess. Very professional & pleasant despite the restaurant being busy & we'd not made reservations.
- Great band. Heard they're called 'Sanaa'. The lead singer's voice [bass/baritone] is amazing!!! This is one of the reason's why i'd go back.
- Great Ambiance. Nice relaxing environment. We had dinner @ the partial outdoor seating but settled for drinks inside the lounge/fireplace-area because it got really chilly outside.
- Enjoyed my wine!
- Great location. Traffic-free. Lots of parking.

Rants;
- Limited menu. [i don't like/eat meat so i found the choices of chicken & sea food to be very limiting].
- Poor Service & waiter badly in need of some training. We had to keep reminding him of our requests. He also was not able to recommend anything on the menu & even said that 'if we are not sure of what we wanted, we should settle for fish & chips!!! Really?
- For the price, i wasn't impressed with the entrees. [My chicken fajitas were not authentic-Mexican & my friend's pork chops were too flat].

Given I love great ambiance & great bands,i'll give Moon flower another chance...& hope the meals will be as memorable as Sanaa.

“Always a lovely experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2012

I had lunch at the Moonflower last month & it was as lovely as usual. My friend and i both had seafood as starters. I had the Lobster * crab pie while he had some pasta. We both had their fresh juices.

The outdoor seating area is lovely...the staff were attentive & friendly.

“Awesome location...great food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2012

The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is it is very pricey. However, you "get what you pay for" certainly goes with this place. Their soups are extraordinary, and the partially outdoor setting makes it a very nice, comfortable place.
