“Love this hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2011

This is a great boutique hotel! The staff were all very friendly and attentive. The rooms are wonderful with excellent attention to detail in the design of the rooms. Had a great meal at the Thai restaurant. And the rooftop pool is relaxing and impressive. Will definitely stay here the next time I am in Nairobi.

Accommodation: a business hotel with all the usual facilities. Billed as
5 star, but by international standards feels more like 4 star. Has a
great rooftop bar and pool as well as an excellent first floor wine
bar, which give character to otherwise conventional place. The rooftop
is a welcome haven from the hustle and bustle of Nairobi below.

Service: very good throughout and friendly.

Facilities: excellent pool, gym and business centre. Let down by poor
wi-fi in the rooms, which is significant for a business hotel.

Food: we only had breakfast, but was good.

Value:accommodation feels a little over priced for what you get, compared to equivalents in many other major African cities such as Cape Town.

New Designer Hotel in good location. The smile you receife while checking in is the beggining of a pleasant stay in this Hotel. The rooms are comparabel with asian 5 star Hotels. Beautiful designed and well arranged. The breakfast fullfills all wishes the risk of eating too much is given. The roof terasse is perfect for a sunset cocktail, lounge music and some tappas. The gym in the last floor is well equiped and the satff is very helpful if ou want some private lessons. After a stressful day there is no better place than the spa, well trained staff gives you a hour of relief and peace!

Had a great lunch here at the Muhibbah restaurant. We were kept waiting a while before our food arrived so were told we could help ourselves from the salad buffet in the meantime. When it did arrive it was well worth the wait. The staff were very attentive and the food excellent. Highly recommend it.

We chose this hotel as it is close to our daughter's apartment in Westlands where she is staying during a semester abroud in Nairobi. She could walk to us and we could get an understanding of her life in Kenya. We stayed two nights before heading off to safari in three game parks, and again upon our return.. It is the newest hotel in Nairobi and it showsThe hotel rooms were smallish, but very comfortable. The bathrooms sparkling with a great soaking tub, and fresh flowers at the sink. The staff was very accomodating with taxis. information, helping our daughter meet us etc. We enjoyed an afternoon in the pool (complete with glass window to the ground 7 stories below) before cathcing our late night flight home. Due to hieghtened security alerts, there were metal detectors and baggage search upon our return. I did not mind that at all. The wine bar and restaurants were wonderful. I would definately recommend The Sakara.

Nairobi is a hell of a place (it used to be nice but now the place is overcrowded, very polluted and traffic-jams come close to those of India). As we have decided to start gently our safari trip in Kenya, we have chosen to spend 2 nights here before heading to Naivasha and Masai Mara. We have not regreted this choice as this hotel has revealed a very good "landing point". The room, food and service were all quite good. The friendly concierge has also helped us to book a taxi for a day drive to see some interesting places in Nairobi (elephant orphanage, giraffe center and a few shops here and there)!
Most definitely a good stay for us!

+ Efficient airport transfer
+ Good security
+ Rooms are modern, clean and well lit.
+ Great location. There is a small mall (Sarit Center if I am not mistaken) located right next door. However, the Westgate Mall is a much better bet. It has a Kazuri Beads Shop and a fairly large, modern cafe which serves decent food. To get to Westgate, the hotel arranged for taxi pick up and drop off. The taxi fare can be charged directly to the room which makes it very convenient and easy. It costs us less than USD5 taxi fare return for a ride that is about 7 mins one way. Down the road is also the nightlife area with some good bars.
+ The Asian restaurant, Muhibbah serves decent South-east Asian cuisines. The roof-top bar is also a good place to have an early evening drink.
+ Angsana Spa standard is comparable to the ones in South-east Asia. The Thai therapists are highly skilled. Highly recommend their massage services.
