“Basic Stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

Stayed one night before heading to Tanzania. The check in staff were unhelpful. Our room was a basic twin with a decent bathroom, reasonably clean. The wifi didn't reach the room. The walls were very thin and you could clearly hear people next door or in the halls. Hotel restaurant breakfast was ok but dinner/lunch was tasteless and took 45mins+ to get the bill.

The Staff is unfriendly unfortunately. I was with a group of friends who stayed there before the Safari, at the end she wanted to wait in my room before going to the airport (30 minutes) and they denied her!! Do not change money there, they rip you off! I paid my stay in $, they want to give me back kenyan money with the unfair rate. Transfer to the airport cost more than normal taxi. Buy on your own.

This hotel was booked as part of G Adventures pre tour hotel. I arrived a day earlier and stayed an extra day. Very basic. I had room 231 which overlooked the pool area.
Basic twin room with fan, TV and basic tea coffee facilities. The coffee is pretty tasteless. My fridge did not work. I did not bother complaining. My TV had no remote control.

There is minimal water pressure and once I had no hot water at all.. Well no water basically to shower with at all this evening. It was fine last night but pressure seem to have gone as well as hot water!

Power outages happen a few times last night. Get use to it.

Bed and bed linen adequate.

Overall a very basic hotel, I would not stay here again if I had a chose. Breakfast was the highlight. Breakfast buffet offerings with basic cereal choices, fruit, hot food like pancakes, eggs, mash, sausages, and baked beans.

Not a place I would come back to.

We stayed here three times when we were in Kenya as we used it as a base while going to different places. Twice for a night each and last visit was for three nights.
The staff here was good and helpful though no concierge service, but if you know where you would like to go they have taxi service.
The Restaurant served good food and staff was courteous. Our breakfast was with the room booking which was always good. The head Chef Leonard obliged us by making Caramel Custard for us on our request.
Since we had a night flight the Manger on our request gave us an extension too.
The Museum is walking distance at the back of the Hotel. and shopping area too is close by but we were advised by the staff to be back by 7pm if we were to walk back as the road leading up to the Hotel does become a bit deserted.
All in all a good budget place to stay.

Room Tip: The first floor rooms were better than the ones on the ground floor. Though we did not have a proble...

We stayed here one night as pre tour accommodation and the room was a good size and reasonably well kept but basic. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the place had a nice atmosphere. Security is good and the gardens and surrounds nice. It's about 40 minutes drive from the airport but of course this depends greatly on the time of day and traffic! The price was reasonable and I would probably stay here again.

An older hotel, but still in good shape, with lovely grounds, and good staff. Much less expensive than the high end hotels. If you're looking for a place to stay, that's clean and safe and don't need all the luxuries, I would recommend this.

Ok...this hotel. Never would i stay here if it wasn't my pre tour recommend hotel. It is Africa though so the room was fairly good considering.
Bad
•My fridge didn't work so that sucked
•The room was so hot even with the little fan
Good
•the food was edible and cheap....but in no way tasty

Would only stay again if had to. But honestly i would never want to return to Nairobi as it is.
