“Old Structure beautiful gardens”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2014

Spent 2 nights with wife and son. First night we spent, we slept on single beds. Seemed like school bunkers. The hotel requires a facelift and renovations. The garden was waoh! Great flowers and superb greenery. Looks like it was borrowed to compliment the hotel.
Our last night upon returning from Masai Mara was better. More modern room and better TV. My son felt cozier.

I know when you reach the hotel you would be like wow nice etc...live there for 15 days like me and you would know the inside out.
I am writing this review while inside the hotel right now, trust me you are not alone in this room..cockroaches are there with you.. not one not two but so many that you will never feel alone..lol
Well I guess and from what I have heard this is probably the cleaner ones in the price tag. No AC so summers can be difficult.
Though some claim it to be 10 mins from the town but I have walked almost daily it will take you atleast 20 mins to reach CBD. If you have a good appetite then please do not rely on the hotel restaurant as I am sure they will succeed to disappoint you.If they don't have customers then they tend to treat the ones they do have, with negligence..if you order a food there and you like it, so you come back the other day and you order it again, to your surprise the quantity will go down to half..lol..and the dish which was prepared on a pan yesterday would be served by heating it in the Ovan and uncooked. This was the weirdest thing that happened.
So please don't think that you will be able to find good food here so do make sure you get something packed from CBD. Food is way over priced as compared to the quality and quantity you may get for a similar meal in CBD
Breakfast OMG...let me give you the list which is what they have everyday..no change at all and food is cold.

1.Fruit salad and cereals with hot and cold milk options
2.Sausages
3.Mashed potato (nothing you have ever tasted in your life, they have no taste actually)
4.Pancakes (the thinnest you can imagine)
5.Scrambled Eggs (I didn't even recognize it till I read the name plate)
6.Sauteed tomatoes
7.Bread butter, jam
8.Fruits (some of them would really smell like when a fruit goes bad)
9.coffee
10. Juices
11.2 more things that looked bad so I never read the names)

There are almost no street lights between the hotel and the CBD crossing, so be careful if you planning to walk..carry a torch if you can.

Currency exchange in the hotel is like a loot..for 1 USD they will you 75 Kenya shiilings!!
If you go to Central Market in CBD you can get it for 86 and airport it is 83 as per 07-05-2014.

All the best have fun and you may enjoy swimming, tennis, bar etc here in the hotel no gym though :(

Room Tip: I was on the poolside room, that seemed better than the others..it will help keep the room comparati...

The hotel is located in a quite location, within 10 minutes walk to the CBD. Nice and clean rooms. Good garden, swimming pool and bar. Staff is friendly and helpful. The only problem is that it doesnt have aircon, so i can imagine staying here in summer will be terrible. Also the breakfast is of poor quality.

Room Tip: Pick a garden facing or pool facing room, you can't miss anything.

Stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning, and once in the middle of a G Adventures trip in February.

We had asked for a room with 2 beds for the first stay and ended up getting one, but we were so tired after flying that we just left it. Wasn't really a major issue. They did accommodate my request for a quiet room so we could sleep comfortably (the second stay our room was one the front of the hotel so all night and early morning traffic was a bother as we had to keep the windows open to stay cool enough to sleep).

The bathroom was spacious and clean, but hot water was not usually something we had. The garden view was beautiful. The restaurant was ok, lots of choices but it was not the best food I've ever eaten. Breakfast was particularly unappetizing, but it filled my stomach and got me set for the day.

We walked to the Fairmont one night to use the internet as, of course, it was down at the Boulevard. It was a decent value, we got a good nights sleep on a relatively comfortable bed with clean sheets. This is a decent stay to begin a tour with. Lower your expectations about the food you have at home and you'll be fine.

Hotel used by G Adventures to launch trips out of Nairobi. Hotel staff were helpful, rooms clean and adequate. Hotel itself was a little dated but OK. Breakfast was very good with lots of choices. Hotel is located next to national Museum if you are looking for something to do nearby.

Room Tip: Try and get a room on the garden side of the hotel Front side is close to noisy roadway with lots...

We had to stay here for one night as we were joining a G Adventures tour from the Hotel the next morning. We didn't expect it to be the Hilton and it wasn't. However it was as good as we expected it to be. The pool was great which we made use of. The rooms were clean and tidy so we got a decent nights sleep which was all we needed.

We had to stay at the Boulevard because we were joining a tour that started from there. The place and the location was good. Clean and good facilities. Definitely overpriced if you pay the 210$ per night that would be the official cost, just ok if you pay the 110$ that we paid on Expedia.
