“Beautifully nostalgic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2012

Kentmere has not changed in years. This is a good thing. I find it to be in a time warp from the 70's, and the furniture, waiters, crockery, etc., is all the same. We went for lunch on a Sunday, and they were reasonably busy. Sitting under the trees, we had a few bottles of wine, and a great 3 course lunch.

Kentmere serves classics such as gamekeepers pate, french onion soup, vol-au-vents, chateau briand, etc. Service is extremely efficient, and well times. The food is very good, and excellent value for money. Don't expect Michelin stared food, but quality, no nonsense fare.

I love the drive out there, and the setting is beautiful.

“Nice old style restaurant/Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

My husband is a member of the Kentmere Club, though you don't have to be one to dine or stay there. We love going there on Sundays.
It serves kind of old-style British food, where you get your 3 types of vegetables with your main dish. Though the quality is good, and it's excellent for week-end relaxed dining.
The garden is nice, can walk down to the the river after your linch, and it's one of the very few restaurants in Nairobi which allow dogs.

Nice place, serene environment, good accommodation rates, has a great history and good location. Could do with some major refurbishment!

“What a lovely getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2012

The other reviews have said nearly all. Great food, astonishing gardens, cosy. The rooms are somewhat run-down, but quite serviceable and good value for money. Parking is easy and safe. Romantic and private. We have spent several anniversaries here.
