The Khweza is a very positive surprise in the otherwise quite difficult and often disappointing hotel market of Nairobi. The rooms are big and clean, the staff is very friendly and the shower has the hot water that is promised. And yes, there are mosquito nets, without holes.

The area of Ngara is a 15 minute walking distance from town, matatus run shuttle to town some 3 minutes away from the hotel. A taxi to town should cost some 400 KSh. The area is perhaps not the charmiest around, but safe during day time for anyone. Just look like you know where you're heading and you won't be bothered! Although the street outside (Ngara Road) is one of the more restless ones at night, safety at the Khweza is good.

Minus points for noisiness: the windows are non-isolated and both traffic and other noises during the night will request the light sleeper to bring a pair of earplugs.

To sum it up, the Khweza is definitely the best value for the money I've had in Nairobi, out of the five hotels I've tried out in the budget/medium category throughout the last two years. Big bonus for the nice roof top terrace.

We spent a single night in small room in dubious neighborhood of Nairobi surrounded by welcoming and helpful staff. The top-notch breakfast was surely the highlight of the stay. Recommeded if you just need a to crash...

I stayed at khweza in June this year and absolutely loved my experience there. The staff are wonderful; so friendly and accommodating, particularly Jumah, my guide he was fantastic. I'm not quite sure why people are commenting on its location, sure it's not the prettiest part of town but I enjoyed the 'realness' of it..if immersing yourself in the real culture of Kenya isn't what you're looking for then maybe Nairobi isn't really a destination for you, or maybe stay at the hilton and dont leave the hotel. :-)
Not once did I feel unsafe here, and I'm a female who traveled alone - and arrived in the evening... The roof top bar is lovely. the wifi is great, the food is very decent, breakfast is included which was great..

Khweza b&b comes highly recommended by me. Asante sana khweza! hope to visit again soon! 

Free wifi which is great really fast and it worked the whole week I was there. Food isn't brilliant, but they do the simple things very well, and breakfast is included. Rooftop bar is great. The staff were really friendly and helpful.
