This is one of the best hotels I have been to and the test is that since the first time I have stayed there , I have brought all my Principals and colleagues there to stay. The service is excellent, the Front Office Manager - Stephen as well as the General Manager - Lorenzo is warm and friendly and makes lot of effort to make you feel at home. The room is very nice and comfortable and also spacious. The choice of food in the restaurant is good. The service for bringing in the food and clearing is superb. Moreover the location of the hotel is on a hill which gives you a nice view as well. Quite close to the industrial area as well for people who have work there. A TRULY REALLY EXCELLENT STAY AND WORTH RECOMMENDING TO ONE AND ALL!

We have just spent 2 nights at the Crowne Plaza Nairobi with a young family. One night on our way to a Safari holiday, and one night on our return. Travelling with a young family has its own challenges and not all business hotels accommodate the additional requirements of young children. The Crowne Plaza, and its staff however were excellent, very friendly and accommodating, a real credit to their brand and I would recommend them thoroughly to any travellers.

I spent one week at the Crowne Plaza Hotel of Kenya Road, Upper Hill, Nairobi. The hotel is very quiet, extremely clean and convenient. Staff are very corteous, efficient and pleasant. Rooms are big and wi-fi works very well. As there are not many restaurants or bars around the area, you are basically left with the hotel restaurant, which offers OK and overpriced food. Breakfast is US$30!! The cheapest option you have (i.e. bread rools, yogurth and a bit of fruit delivered through room service) is US$20.
Breakfast apart, the place is very good and extremely comfortable if you need to work.

A modern-enough, soulless establishment typical of tens of thousands of 4 star establishments in business capitals worldwide, with functional service, well-appointed rooms, and few visible standards of wear and tear. Four complaints, however: (1) The area surrounding the hotel is a moribund of all activity once the sun goes down (and also devoid of views of the city, despite its elevated location), so unless one is inclined towards a taxi excursion, you are effectively trapped with the over-priced in-house dining facilities; (2) Use of said over-priced in-house dining facilities revealed what appears to be an unsavory management practice, with tips recorded on the room bills not reaching the concerned staff, but instead being absorbed by management; (3) Maintenance seems to be a tad wanting, as I also had problems with a clogged drain, which resulted in low-level flooding of my bathroom and consequent impassibility of said area; (4) It is over-priced and my very expensive room-rate did not even include breakfast, which was not a pleasant gesture given the aforementioned over-priced in-house dining facilities.
