One of my favourite and regular watering holes. We have Sunday lunch there. This week I had fish and asked for it 'soft cooked' and it was perfect, so was the rice, so was the service, and it was busy. The men had the Sunday roast buffet and curry which they rave about every week. The setting is idyllic and for those who love Karen Blixen's 'Out of Africa' (the book, not the film) it is full of folk lore, romance and history. We also often go with our IT consultants for a slide in the Sports Bar (six little hamburgers) and the calamari are good too and we watch some sport as they are addicted to screans. However, However, today I took an old lady friend from childhood who has had a stroke. We are well known and get the royal treatment. But the service was slow and I felt we were side lined after the initial welcome. I had the same meal but the fish, although perfectly edible was a little overcooked. It wasn't that busy and the waiters never waited and never scanned and spent a lot of time in huddles discussing tables! Odd but still highly to be recommended as it is usually great and a lovely environment (in or out) and some well behaved kids and a couple of house doggies - so a great sense of cosiness in style
