I had to go to Village Market. After so many numerous recommendations and talk, I found myself there. But that was a while ago. I therefore made myself relax and get a fair experience before writing this review.
Village Market is located at a good place. The surrounding areas are heavily expatriate populated. This makes the prices of things in this mall to be over inflated. If you are on a budget (shoestring or otherwise) avoid this place like a plague.
The food court has different cuisines; Indian, African, Chinese... you name it. But the prices are not worth the quantity nor quality. The quality is good I should say, but not so good as to warrant the prices offered.
The place is quite congested too. I think the planners were really trying to cram as many shops in the area as possible and not considering space. It is also easy to get lost in the maze of corridors.
They used to offer free parking. Then they introduced parking meters. No there is no period for free parking. The minute you drive in then at least Ksh. 50 (approx $0.80) is charged for the first 15 minutes.
I guess the only thing that makes the place quite popular is the bowling area as well as pool and foosball tournaments that are held almost every weekend. And the water area which is so popular with school going children brought in by school buses for a dip.
Therefore this is just another mall with rows upon rows of shops and a central food court area.
Verdict: Good mall but not worth the costs charged.
