“I like YAYA Centre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

I do like YAYA Centre. I've spent many an hour there whilst waiting for friends (who were stuck in the Nairobi traffic lol!). It's well contained with a nice range of stores. The bookstore is well stocked and you could easily spend an hour in there alone looking at the titles. The children's toy shop is very well run and I've had occasions to shop there over the years. If you happen to buying a present for a child in Kenya it's worth a visit (not so much for buying a Kenya gift to take back overseas). It has a nice Java House and a Nakamatt, which is always handy. It's easy to access if you have a car, and has a taxi rank outside, which tends to always have at least five taxis to hand so no waiting. Obviously it is well serviced by matatu also.

a great shopping experience with all amenities under one roof, good security as well as parking facilities, however food court needs more variety

“Nothing Special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2012

Nothing really special beyond a shopping mall. Owned by a very corrupt man from the old government. But, a nice break from the hustle of the city. Parking is a little tricky, but not too bad.

“Stocking up on supplies”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

Good secure mall with eateries, supermarket, cash machines, souvenirs, camera store. Very similar to western countries for those traveling and needing restock supplies.

“Thoroughly enjoyable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

Really liked this shopping centre. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Appreciated the food stores, the Java House, the Bata shoe store.and especially the high quality Bookstop bookstore! We have never seen such a quality collection of books for sale, particularly the Africa section. Many were university level texts that, according to the proprietor, more professors than students come to buy. Very impressive!
