“Old favorites galore”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2011

The menu is just the same as ever, this is proper old fashioned french bistro fare; nouvelle or modern cuisine fans look elsewhere. All the old favorites are catered for, excellent oysters, french onion soup, steak diane, confit de canard and crepes suzette. All very well executed, my only criticism is reserved for the gratin dauphinois, where the dauphinois just wasn't 'gratin' enough! Oh and the selection of wine by the glass is very poor - only a very ordinary cask offering.
Even the Irish Coffee had me reminiscing of the old restaurant in Koinange Street.
Recommended with slight reservations.

“Good value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2011

The food is good, the service is friendly. The onion soup was excellent. The menu is wide and there are several good fish dishes. The wine list isn't extensive by any means but the choice from those available was excellent and served at the right temperature

“Not good all the way”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2010

We went here for our wedding anniversary, and it wa sour worst visit so far. Teh food was somehow not as usually and in the end the main waiter had a strange outburst. My husband ordered the bill and one ber at ten to eleven and the bill came quick;y but when asked for the beer the waiter started to complain that he had been working from 6 in the morning and he wanted to see hsi kids. We pointed out that we are regulars and did not make any trouble or Thsi was probably just a bad day for him, we will still be back another time.

“Top class in Nairobi”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2010

Bobbe´s is the best place I have been to in Nairobi, a real French/Eoropean place in Africa. It is hidden at the end of Rhapta Road in Westlands, in the Andrews apartments complex. If you are not familiar with Nairobi then take a taxi. Food is very impressive, good tasting and nicely served. Fish dishes are the best I have had in Nairobi. Nice fish soups, mixed seafood and lobster. Steaks are good to. Prices are on the higher side but fair for the quality you are getting. Service is good and delicate.
For a nice evening out in a calm area this is the best pick.

“Great food. Shame about the wine list.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2010

Can't argue with the quality of the food. Even the filet mignon came close to rare, as ordered, which I find "rare" outside France.

However, Christian should know better than to describe Cotes du Rohne and Beaujolais as "Burgundy". The real Burgundy was actually quite good and not overpriced by Nairobi standards.
