Spent two weeks at this hotel on business. Staff were friendly and responsive. I had an electrical issue - at midnight- with a few of the outlets in the room and maintenance arrived to fix it within minutes. Rooms were decent sized (I had a standard room with a king), comfortable, and modern.
Daily breakfast was very good with food made to order available. Ate lunch and dinner in the restaurant a few times - meals were prepared fairly quickly and of good quality.
Clean and fairly spacious gym where you can get a good workout.
Location to the Village Market is ideal - just a short walk to an abundance of stores, pharmacy, restaurants, eateries, etc. Took a day safari trip in secure Land Rover to the National Park from service recommended by hotel-great experience if just looking for a safe day trip and not too expensive at all. Spent an additional day with the tour guide to see some additional sites in Nairobi. Overall a very good experience at this hotel.

Room Tip: Village Market has a grocery store with an abundance of items - if planning an extended stay and wan...

Nice hotel with spacious clean rooms. The hotel is strategically located within a walking distance from Village Market. Enjoy the shisha severed a the bar (which I think located at the fourth floor). My only complain is that breakfast was not diverse.

Nice to return to the Tribe again after a couple of years absence, layout is mostly unchanged, though there is now a cafe type area on reception level with a sweet and savoury pastry counter and the bar moved down to be part of the restaurant.
Service is hit and miss depending on time of day and staffing, sitting in the lounge area will often require you to hunt down a member of staff to order a drink. The same goes in the bar and restaurant area, with staff at times disappearing from the bar to go serve meals.

Food quality is ok and can be dependent on staff, some dishes are very good others very mediocre for the price being charged. Service for food can be a little slow at times, even when restaurant not particularly busy.

The modern hotel design has certainly not considered comfort, the bar and restaurant seats are all hard plastic moulded seats that become quite uncomfortable after a short while, the bar is hard to sit at with no overhang so you end up leaning at an uncomfortable angle or sitting sideways on.

One evening was quite unpleasant when the smell from the drains in the kitchen and bar was enought to send us elsewhere to eat, staff were aware of the problem and apologised for something beyond their control.

The Nest bar on the 4th floor is open until late for drinks, however be careful to keep an eye on the tab when signing off to ensure that the drinks of some of the young ladies that frequent the place do not end up being added to your bill without your consent! The staff did rectify this but it's a little troubling that they manage to do this so easily with the bar staff. No allegations of open collusion but remain cautious to avoid being charged for things you haven't ordered or consumed!

This is still a nice hotel, staff will do their best to resolve problems, a short secure walk to the Village market for more varied food options and the shopping. Security remains quite important and the location and layout is pretty good for this, however the nightly influx of some of the young ladies looking for company may be off putting to those visiting with young families, as they are not always as discrete as might be expected.

Room Tip: Away from the pool area is good, in case of late night functions, also avoid the corridor near the t...

I stayed here with my two children (1.5 & 6 yrs). The pool is great, but there is no service there so be prepared to look for towels and drinks. The resturant has a good kids menu. The food is good and has nice portions. The breakfast buffet is not the best I've seen but it's satisfying. The service in the Resturant is slow and awkward. Never sure who is serving us.
The other staff are great- very friendly. I was a little disappointed with the security though. Luggage is not checked nor our guests' handbags checked as they re entered the hotel. We recently stayed at the Sankara hotel and every bag was ex-rayed every time. With the recent issues in Kenya I would hope this hotel could increase their security. Other then that it was a nice place to stay.

The service downstairs in the restaurant leaves A LOT to be desired. One particular night, I spent over 2 hours there for dinner and I was alone. Don't order the St Louis Ribs! They do NOT taste anything like ribs in the states! Additionally, if you're in a hurry at breakfast, do NOT order a pancake! It will take 20+ minutes to get it!
The rooms are nice. Wifi is available and you can connect unlimited devices.

Stayed for four days at Tribe for business and it couldn't have been more convenient. The rooms are clean, well maintainted and the service is outstanding! From concierge to housekeeping, the service is absolutely professional and prompt. They really go out of their way to assist with whatever issues you have.
The hotel is located in the diplomatic area which is lovely but a bit far from the centre (especially if you try to get there during rush hour). The stay, however, definitely worth the extra 20 mins journey!
I would certainly choose Tribe again!
