Having previously been here twice for lunch, visited Fogo Gaucho for dinner on 30th Jan for dinner with friends. Being a week day we did not think that reservation was needed and were pleasantly surprised to find a full house with all the tables occupied, the staff offered to accommodate us in the adjoining dining hall which was also nearly full, when we expressed our preference for a table in the restaurant, a table was promptly set up behind the hostess desk. The food, the service and the ambiance with a strong mix of expats and locals was much endearing than some expensive touristy outlets in Nairobi. We did observe that everybody was having fun, happy waiters included.
I recommend Fogo Gaucho to every carnivore without hesitation.

The brazillian dining experience at its best. The picana just heavenly....and the wide array of salads for all taste buds. Its just the best dining experience.

Good service. Decent salad counter and selection of meats - both eat as much as you can for a reasonable price. Restaurant could do a lot better by improving the seafood side of things. Prawns are terrible. Croc meat is amazing!

Fogo Gaucho has none of the theatre of Carnivore but it's very much worth a visit.
When you sit, you are invited to help yourself to the salad bar (and it's unlimited!) after which you have a parade of grilled meats brought & carved at your table. You have chicken, pork, ribs, steak, ostrich, crocodile & lamb. You carry on eating until you are stuffed! You finish with hot pineapple rolled in cinnamon which is utter delicious. The drinks are reasonably priced and you will find more of the locals here than any ex-pats or Indian community.
It's best to book as it gets busy on Thursday/ Friday & Saturday nights. Try a get a seat in he main restaurant otherwise you are sat near the bar where people smoke.
A very reasonable 1800KSH per person - not including drinks - which is cheaper than Carnivore & it's in town, which is more convenient.
