“Very good, usually fast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

Habesha is a very good Ethiopian restaurant with outside sitting, service usually fast. I enjoy going there for quick lunches during the week.

“Authentic Ethiopian food, Great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

I love Injera and the Ethiopian feast. After the usual expat haunts, I was starved for real African food and atmosphere. The restaurant looks like a residential bungalow after you pass the usual security guards. There are no tables but high woven baskets which hoold the large metal platters. Basic like a decent local guesthouse. Each of the curries was distinct and delicious. As a woman eating alone, they made me feel comfortable and brought my full meal within minutes. When the bill came, I couldn't believe my eyes. A feast with drinks and coffee for well under 20 dollars/francs. A wonderful conclusion to my Nairobi visit.

“Great Ethiopian food - Lekker Ethiopisch eten”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

This is a great restaurant, once you are through the ugly green gate.. It is much bigger than you would expect and has nice seats all around both inside and outside.
We sat outside close to the fire, which our sons loved !

The food is good to excellent, Doro Wat & Zil Zil tibs, the beef which I absolutely loved!!!
Of course great ethiopian coffee and great Kenyan, English and Ethiopian company.
Oh, and as nearly all ethiopians, very good value for money too.
( €60 - 6000 KSH for 6 people with wine & dessert)

Erg goed ethiopisch restaurant.
En, zoals bijna alle ethiopische restaurants, erg goedkoop.
€60 euro voor 6 personen met wijn en desserts.
Aanrader!

“One of my favorite restaurants in Nairobi”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Fantastic food. Cheap. Nice atmosphere. We are regulars here and absolutely love it.
Fires in evening and aroma of coffee service.
Really lovely. Can be a bit slow for larger groups, so plan accordingly.

“Great Ethiopian food and atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

Every time I am in Nairobi I make sure to visit Habesha. I have always had a great experience and keep coming back for more. This is a great place to come with a group of people because you can sample multiple dishes. There is a large outdoor seating area with tables tucked away all over, make sure to sit outside. The shiro here is delicious (the best I've ever had!) and they also have a goat with rosemary dish that's very good. Really, I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. Last time I checked their injera was gluten-free, they told me they never use wheat. I highly recommend Habesha!
