Osteria is a really Italian place in Nairobi. The owners seem to be Italian, and so is the menu. The owners seem to be the kind of restaurant owners that probably wouldn't have succeeded in their home country, but in a place where the bar is lower, they get away with it. Positive things: a fantastic ice cream parlor, and very nice setting. On the other hand, the food is really bad, considering the quite high price. And worst of all, is the fact that sleazy nightclub Casablanca is in the same compound. If you buy a lunch at Osteria, you also support the 2nd most prominent brothel in Nairobi. I would strongly urge everyone who goes to Osteria to consider the following question: would you like your lunch money to be part of a cartel that is based on women selling their bodies to the highest bidder?

Loved the atmosphere at this restaurant! We were seated on the patio outside and it was tons of fun. I had a salad and ravioli for dinner with great red wine. The service was great and you would have never know we were in Africa having dinner. I would go back to this restaurant the next time I am visiting Nairobi.

We have been in Karen Osteria twice this past months for dinner From food and service View it was ok. Restaurant itself is in along the Ngong Road. You may not seen the sign. It is hiding at the back. Pizza was average, servers are many but not attentive. For the price can recommend the house wine. If it is close where you live recommend it, otherwise thereare better options around.

We spent a nice evening seated on the lovely terrace. It was a rather chilly evening, but the heating made it nice to sit outside. Lots of expatriates. Menu offers a good selection of typical italian dishes. We tried out the specials and were not disapointed. Food is of good quality. The service is quick and professional. A little bit more care for each customer could maybe be introduced. Overall, a very good place for italian food.
