“Clean & safe hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013

This is a nice hotel just behind the Luxor temple. There are also lots of groceries & eating places near it. The hotel in general is beautiful: it has arabian interior with nice decorations, the rooms & the linens are really, really clean. We stayed on the 4th floor which is not good option actually as it is just under the roof so there was always hot in the room. Sure there is A/C but try to avoid from the last floor rooms. The staff is nice & always ready to help their guests but of course with extra money. They also organize tours. Take the ones that you can not do by yourself. In the evenings just enjoy the breeze coming from the Nile & the amazing view from the open roof top of the hotel.

Room Tip: Try to avoid from the last floor rooms & never never give baksheesh for the service you have alr...

The staff are always around and always helpful, glad to help arrange tours with their travel desk (the most comprehensive one we encountered in Egypt!), as well as having well-appointed rooms with clean linens, AC, and TVs(!). The location is excellent and easy to access, restaurants abound in the area (as well as one at the hotel), and it's a top choice for a stay in the Luxor East Bank area.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 2nd floor have intermittent access to the rooftop or lobby WiFi, but often can get one...

Nefertiti is clean and its rooms comfortable. The only reason I've not given it a higher rating is that I went to Aswan in the same holiday and enjoyed the village location of the hotel there much more than that of Nefertiti. It is, however, very close to everything in the middle of town. Also, the view is spectacular.

Staff are very friendly and make life easy. Their tours are well organised and reasonable, though not the cheapest for those who know Egypt well.

Food is good enough, but not amazing.

My stay here at the nefertiti was by far the BEST i have ever had. the staff is extremely friendly and helpful and almost make you feel like family. I stayed here on vacation during my birthday, the staff arranged for a surprise birthday cake, the manager even had a few other guests sing to me in their native languages. Made my stay here the most memorable. I would recommend anyone to stay here. The value and the location are most excellent.

Nefertiti is a great and relaxing place to stay in Luxor. The rooms are very decent (clean, tiny balcony, private bathroom) and the hotel itself is a gem with a cosy reception, beautiful staircase but most of all an amazing roof terrace with views over the Nile to the West Bank. The Luxor Temple is just a 100 metres away: nicest to visit in the evening when it is beautifully lit. The restaurant attached to the hotel (also serves on roof terrace) is very convenient.
Best of our stay were the friendly owners who definitely try to make you feel comfortable! Thanks to Nefertiti hotel for our pleasant stay :)

We stayed as a family for a night. Booked this hotel based on reviews from fellow TripAdvisirians(Now I should patent this word :)). Upon arrival, we were given a room in the top floor. It was rather inconvenient to walk with kids and luggage to the top floor. The room air conditioner was not cooled even after an hour and I went to the reception asked them to change the room to the lower floor. I was given room in a first floor and A/C worked fine. What a relief.

I was given sufficient information about the tours organized by Aladdin tours but I informed them it is just the rest day and not in a mood to do any travel on that day and the tour representative took it very easily. No push at all. Probably I will do more tour with them next time.

Now the great part. Shima, reservations manager, personally took time in coming with us to purchase few jewellery items. I really appreciate her willingness to help us customers to have a great experience. Even she offered to take us to a perfume place where my wife wanted to get perfume. But because of the time constraint we can't do it. She is very friendly, my kids really loved her especially my little daughter. She will be our tour guide in egypt next time.

Views from the rooftop is great and the room is comfortable. Priced just right. I found the food next door little expensive when compare to other places. Compared to US restaurants, still it is less expensive.

Whole luxor got a power cut couple of times during the dat and there are no power generators or backup at the hotel. I believe that's the norm for most of the hotels. We were worried about the night but no power cut on that night.

Overall, because of Shima's great customer care, this whole experience became a great one and looking forward to stay here in our next trip.

Room Tip: If you are traveling with young kids or if you are having trouble climbing steps, try to stay in low...
