In the premises of the hotel there is the pizzeria The Romance. We had an overpriced, frozen pizza that was the worst I ever had in Egypt, or possible in all my life. The head waiter make some stupid jokes and of course did not get a tip, although service and taxes were already included in the price of the poor cooked food.

Room Tip: Best room are the Nile view.

Fabulously placed in the centre of Luxor, rooms were spacious and clean. Staff were amazingly friendly (but not in a creepy way). Stunningly beautiful views of both Nile, Valley of the Kings and the Town, we enjoyed people watching from the comfort of our balconies. For security and economy we booked all our trips through Ali (gave him a wish list, which he organised) also he has the leather bag shop actually in the hotel, we were six women aged between 7 - 58 saved a fortune but also felt safe and were not hassled to any annoying degree. Food was great would recommend the Bar menu for lunch, even the local alcohol was fine. Sabah for manicures, pedicures and henna dyes. Mansour for trinkets and shopping, if he has not got it he will get it. We will be back next year.

Just got back from the iberotel in luxor having stayed there four times this year the staff welcome you as soon as you step in to the hotel everybody has always got a friendly smile and a warm welcome nothing is to much trouble at all if you need to go out on a boat have a word with craig david and near the pool on the nile he is so cheap and he makes the best mint tea !!!! Also ali in the bag shop is so friendly and always has a good bargain with his bags and if there is any thing at all you need he will get it for you .The rooms at this hotel are very clean and the view on the nile in the evening is well worth paying the extra for a nile view room . If you want to go out during the day or evening and dont want to be hassled. Ask for salaha for a horse and carriage(Caleche) he is cheap and very very friendly and you wont get any hassle at all with him he will even take you to the markets for all the best bargains. He will even get you any trips you want to go on very cheap !!! You do get hassled when you go out of the hotel but they are only wanting to earn a living but if you dont want it all you have to say is "La shukran" this means no thank you they will leave you alone then. The staff in the resturant as very good and also the bar staff as well . The entertainment in the hotel is a man on keyboard every night from 8-12pm if you like that kind of thing and there is also a pool table.I have to say the Egyptian are very friendly people . The food in the hotel is a mix of traditional egyptian food and also english food. All in all I have to say the Iberotel is ideally the best hotel over looking the nile and you get the best sunset views ever I will be going back to the iberotel in January 2013

Room Tip: Well worth booking a nile view room to also see the sunset fantastic

Stayed for three nights, booked a triple room (double room+1 extra bed) through the hotel website. They required credit card confirmation. I clearly stated that I will have 5 year old with me who will share the bed, but front desk created problem during check in. But when the front desk guy spoke to the reservation manager, things were sorted out quickly.
Good points:
1. Location is great, just on the Nile, great view from the balcony, we enjoyed our time sitting in the balcony looking over to the west bank and Theban hills, very relaxing
2. Pool is great, it is on a boat(ship) that is moored at the hotel jetty, cool place to chill
3. Several restaurants in the hotel, reasonably priced
4. Breakfast is ok, with egg station
5. Rooms are nice, modern look, a bit cramped though

Not so good points:
1. TV is old style tube tv, totally misfit for the room
2. Wi Fi is charged at high rate, and it is not cheap at all
3. No airport pick up service, so you are at the mercy of airport taxi mafia, not a nice experience

Despite all it’s shortcomings, I will stay here again, mainly for the Nile view and for the swimming pool…

Just got back from the iberotel in Luxor. Please do not be put off by the current small located attacks in Sharm. Nothing was noted in Luxor and it was business as usual. the majority of the Egyptians are worried this type of islamist attack will affect their businesses and are working really hard to get your business so it is a good time to go. The hotel was clean and tidy and the staff courteous - nothing was too much trouble. The food was a good mix of traditional egyptian foods and also english food.
The iberotel is ideally set - looking over the nile and you get terrific sunset views if you get a nile view room. It is worth the extra cost.
When travelling around Luxor most people feel intimidated the first time they go out of their hotel due to the amount of traders trying to get your business for rides in horse drawn coaches / boats (feluccas) or trips to Thebes (Valley of the Kings). Do not feel intimidated 'La Shukran' means no thanks and when you have said it enough times - word gets about and they leave you alone. However, if you do want to experience Luxor it is worth hiring a Caleche (horse drawn coach) to get around. They will offer you a personallised service of taking you around Luxor and explaining the history. It is much cheaper than the hotel / travel company tours! Do not listen to the stories the travel companies like to endorse about the caleche drivers - they are just doing this so you pay their hiked up prices for the same trips. A few things to note when hiring a caleche do the following: 1. Check it has it's number plates, as in the UK you do get some touting for business without the necessary licences. 2. Negotiate your price and shake on it before getting on the caleche (this is common courtesy for any buying or 'haggeling' of services and closes the deal) 3. Be prepared to haggle - it's all part of the fun and once you get into it you realise how much we pay for things back in England. Maybe we should introduce it here! :-) Have fun!

Room Tip: Choose a Nile view room, the selection of other rooms are either 1. internal or 2.facing the busy ro...
