“trip to the western desert”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

We didn't stay at the hotel, but asked Hamada, one of the owners, to organise our own trip to the Western Desert. We got a Toyota Land cruiser, 6 cylinder, and a driver called Rageb. We had such a great experience. Thoroughly recommend it.

“Charming Small Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

We didn't stay here but we would love to. It is situated on the West Bank of Luxor and we have used this hotel for two years as a place to have coffee after the trip across from the East Bank; eat lunch after a morning of sight seeing; or visit for an evening meal away from the hussle and bussle of Luxor. The roof top is a really lovely location to sit and relax and take in the views across Luxor. It has always been quiet (shame because they really do deserve more business) when we have visited but the staff are always friendly and pleased to see you and absolutely no hassle. Prices are reasonal (lunch LE100 for 2 and dinner with a bottle of wine LE220) and the public Ferry makes it really easy to access at night for dinner.

“A family atmosphere in Luxor”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

I went to Luxor with my wife and her parents and stayed at the Nile Valley Hotel. I was treated just like one of the family. All the staff worked very hard to make sure our time was pleasant and comfortable. We arrived late and were immediately shown to our rooms and then taken to the roof-top restaurant for a welcome drink. They arranged our felucca trip and our transportation to the Valley of Kings and other sites. The price was very competitive. In fact their relationship with tours is very amicable and they will work hard to accommodate all your wishes and requirements. The west bank is much quieter and the position of the hotel very convenient for links to all sites. If you stay there ask to use Ahmed Mohamed Omar's motor boat Karim II as he speaks good English and will take you wherever you want to go. The rooms are clean and well maintained with good views wherever you stay (river view or pool view). The pool is a lifeline and very pleasant to spend time between tours. The food is wholesome with enough variety to suit all pallettes

“Visit to the Nile Valley Hotel September / October 2012”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

I recently stayed at the hotel along with a friend for a week. I had previously eaten in the restaurant on a number of occasions but hadn't actually stayed there before but had seen the rooms so I already had expectations of how our stay would be and I wasn't disappointed. The staff were always friendly and welcoming and happy to serve you, whether it be at reception or the restaurant where the food is good. The roof top restaurant has stunning views across the NIle to the East Bank and most rooms also have a NIle view. We each had a room so were able to experience two different types, one behind reception, the other by the pool, both were air conditioned and also had fans, both were en-suite. They were cleaned every day as if by magic (we never saw who carried out this work!) and the towels changed every day. I did think the hotel might be noisy being located so close to the ferry. This was not the case as, with the the changes to the landscape in front of the hotel over the last few years very little traffic / people pass the front of the hotel now. The owners are in in the morning and the evening and when not there are always contactable by 'phone. All in all we had a great stay. Thanks to everyone for looking after us and hope to stay with you again soon - enshallah

“Watched the world go by from our balcony on the West Bank.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

We recently stayed at The Nile Valley Hotel for nearly 2 weeks and had a great time. Very friendly staff who served us with a ready smile. The food was good and we always eat the local dishes to get a flavour of the country. The rooftop restaurant is a geat place to eat and watch the world go by. Our room was basic but comfortable and we had views of the park and the Nile from the balcony. The only disadvantage of the front rooms is that the people of the West Bank don't seem to go to bed at night but we soon got used to the hubbub and slept through it. The bathroom was adequate with a good shower over the bath and always plenty of hot water. The hotel has bicycles that we hired and went around the roads of the West Bank, a lovely way to see the local people and stop for a drink at a local bar. There are numerous boats to take you to the East Bank for 5 EL. There is a good sized pool and terrace with plenty of sunbeds. Also a poolside bar where you can drink while sitting in the pool on bar stools.
