“fascinating ceiling decoration”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

Built by Pharaoh Ramses III almost 3500 years ago the complex of temples known as Medinet Habu is a virtual city unto itself with storage areas, work areas and living areas for the high Priest and his staff. Absolutely fascinating ceiling decoration in vivid colour

“If I had just one”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

If I had just one temple I could visit except for karnak this would be it. one of the biggest but under rated in Egypt. This is worth your time and effort to get there. When we went we were the only ones there.

“Visit this temple and Karnak...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

....both temples are excellent. The pillars in Habu are perhaps not as impressive as in Karnak but the carvings are far more interesting with pictures of war. A heap of severed hands or tounges anyone?

“regular visitor”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

Temple is fantastic, as always. Don't get straight on the bus or in the car, have a drink at Belzonis, one restaurant in from the corner. Friendly staff, ask if you can go up to the roof, great views, even better when the temple and hills are lit up. Roof is a work in progress, food is excellent.
