“Not as impressive as Karnak but still very good!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

Located right in the centre of Luxor, this temple is very accessible and amongst the most impressive in Egypt. It's a bit peculiar to see a mosque perched on top of one of its walls, but it certainly gives a good impression of the scale of the place. Well worth spending a couple of hours here.

“stunning”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

This temple I have visited twice. Its a place like no other. You can really just absorb the history, art and culture that lies in the heart of this Beautiful and stunning Temple. Good to visit at dusk, so your photos will be quite different in the change of contours between dusk and evening to night time.

“Impressing best enjoyed in the late afternoon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

Very easy to find just at the harbour where most of the cruise ships arrive and depart this temple is simply impressing. If you think of the age of it (3.500 years) it makes you wonder how much work has been put into it.

You will find great halls, an old mosque and an old christian church inside, very interesting hieroglyphs, statues, and pillars all in a very nice set and even though the completion took centuries it shows the stability of the old egyptian culture.

Give yourself some time to venture and explore and best come in the late afternoon, the reliefs will be much better to see.

“Expected more but worthwhile in summer heat.....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

Ok, so I expected it to be bigger and slight more to see. In this case I should have just visited Karnak however considering we visited in June the hour we took at Luxor Temple was ample considering the heat and I doubt we could have dealt with staying in it any longer.

“Similar to Carnack.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

Originally connected to Carnack temple this temple is very similar and has some incredible sights like the statues of Tutankhamun and his wife.
