“Restores your faith in Egyptians”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2011

I went to Luxor with my family earlier this month (March)... We contacted Ehab (Ayman Boghdady, owner) at Sawa tours 2 days before the trip and booked couple of tours. Ehab was excellent in responding to emails promptly.

Its a shame that there seems to be a red writing box at the top because, without a doubt, Ehab made sure our holiday was amazing.

After the Mubarak palaver, you can sense the financial strain that the Egyptians are going through. Although we had read and familiarised ourselves with the tipping customs and the constant hassle by the local population, nothing prepared us like turning up there and finding that a bottle of water costs £1...

Our faith was soon restored when we met Ehab, the owner of Sawa tours at our hotel.
He was very punctual, straight forward about what we can expect... and such a nice man. We genuinely felt that he really did want to make sure that our holiday went without a glitch.

We signed up for the day trip in Luxor, day trip in Aswan and Abusimbel. We had amazing guides who made history come alive.

There are some comments on this site about not understanding their accents... I have to say that if you are not used to foreign English accents and the speed of speaking, you might find it difficult to understand the guides. We've gone from the cosmopolitan society of London to Egypt so we had no problems.

Our group consisted of my mum, my brother (young man) and my self ( young woman), so we were concerned for our safety when the itinerary read that we'd be taking the train to Aswan alone... Although we didn't express our concern, Ehab treated us like his own family and provided an air conditioned mini van with a personal driver at no extra cost.

All three tours were fantastic.... and very thorough.... We had adequate time to enjoy each site. The guides were very punctual and friendly.

Only thing I would advice is that one of the guide took us to an alabaster shop, a marble craft shop (Ehab wasnt aware of this but we told him and he apologised for it and ensured that measures were taken to ensure that doesnt happen again)... the salesmen were very pushy... although we held our own and managed to get few key pieces for a reasonable price... it was an unnecessary purchase....

Ehab also took care of our extra requirements such as driving us to Luxor museum from our hotel and back for free...going out of his way to find an adaptor.. fixing a horse ride at a very reasonable price (45 LE for 3 of us)... he even offered to collect us and drop us off to the airport for free but I had already booked a cab.

As far as our meals were concerned, couple of days lunches were included as part of the tour but on the other days, Ehab took us to local restaurants where the prices were very reasonable and food was authentic egyptian.

Other amazing plus point was Ehab taking us to a wholesale souvenir shop where I was able to get something for all of my friends for next to nothing.

We got scammed by a Bazaar salesman and paid £6 for 100g of peppermint (quite aggressive salesman) and felt annoyed about that.... we happened to mention it to our driver (who we didn't realise was Ehab's brother).. he told his brother and just so our trip wont end on a sour note, they got us a gift basket with various herbs and spices! That was such a nice touch... because aside from these guys, almost all the Egyptian people we came across looked at us like walking ATMs....

I would thoroughly recommend Sawa tours..... Ehab is also the Luxor representative for Ramses tours as well... so ranking 1st at the moment.... I have to say that even if I had a family member in Egypt, I dont think I'd be treated as well as how we were treated by Sawa tours... thank u guys...

On an additional note, we went straight after the trouble in Cairo but didn't feel any aftermath.

“Excellent service, personal touch by a family-run business”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2011

Having read the reviews on TA, I decided to email this company along with other tour operators to get the best quotes. Mr Ayman was very prompt in his replies and he also called me several times to finalize the details of my day trips to Aswan/Abu Simbel and Cairo. Unfortunately I had to cancel my trip at last moment and reschedule it a later date in Jan last week.

The day we landed was the first day protests in Cairo started but things were fine to begin with in Luxor. However with each passing day, tourist sites were getting closed and it was getting difficult to do day trips with police convoys getting canceled. At this time, I called up Mr Ayman and asked for suggestions for day trip. He suggested a one day trip to Red-sea (Safaga) for snorkeling, away from the tense situation in Luxor.

His younger brother was our driver and picked us from the hotel early in the morning. The chiller with drinks and some snacks for breakfast was a pleasant surprise as it showed that extra personal touch which other tour operators in Luxor fail to do so. After 3 hour drive through the Eastern desert, we reached the sea resort in Safaga where our boat trip was to begin. We had 2 snorkeling dives, lunch on board, spent an hour on a beautiful island and also had some time on glass boat. In all, it was an amazing day out in beautiful Red sea with best coral I have ever seen. Started back around 4 in the evening and met Mr Ayman back at the hotel around 7ish, happy with the day trip. He told us that he was worried that my wife being a vegetarian wont get good food in the boat and that's why he arranged for some snacks. Impeccable arrangement !!!

My wife asked for suggestions for some sweets to take home, at this Mr Ayman offered us to take to the local supermarket and help us buy some stuff. The shop was like mini supermarket full of locals, we bought some coffee, tea but couldn't find the recommended stuffed dates. So Mr Ayman took us to another small shop where we finally found some nuts filled dates :) He also took us to a local coffee grinding shop where he gifted us a pack of cardamom flavored coffee as he wanted us to taste the real Egyptian coffee. We could see and feel his genuine interest to show us around the local shops and sample the local produce.

Next day he dropped us at the airport in his own car and we talked about the revolution in Egypt and what he felt about it. He even had an Egyptian flag in front of his car bonnet and was hopeful that future of his country would be bright.

Having stayed at Luxor and gone with other travel agencies (on Corniche) for day-trips, Mr Ayman showed why family run businesses are always better than those money-minded shops. No non-sense, no tourist traps, no visit to Papyrus or alabaster shops for commission PLUS almost or less price than those shops. He has true passion for his work and wants his guest to enjoy Egypt as it should be. I wish I could do all my day trips with him and not experimented else where before.

I would highly recommend this company for couples or families who want to have the best in Egypt.

“Excellent organisation and a personal touch made for an amazing day!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2011

I have just returned from a week in Luxor. Before travelling we arranged a day trip to Cairo with Sawa4 Day Tours. Our contact there was Mr. Ayman Youssef Boghdady. Our initial contact was online and Mr. Boghdady called us to check all the details. We were so impressed with the care and attention to detail taken with our tour. We met with Mr. Boghdady in our hotel before the trip and he ensured that everything was organised to perfection. A lovely touch was calling our hotel the evening we were due to fly to Cairo to arrange our wake up call and breakfast boxes.

Upon arrival in Cairo, we were met by our wonderful guide Abduo and skilled driver. The entire day ran like clockwork. We felt very well taken care of and the day was informative and fun.

Everyone we met with from Sawa4 was professional and extremely trustworthy. If you are travelling to Egypt and want to go on some tours that are excellently organised then I could not recommend Sawa4 tours highly enough. They do a range of different trips and I know that I will be contacting Mr. Boghdady to organise my tours when I travel back to Egypt.

Thank you for making our trip so special !

“EHAB BOGHDADY: THE BEST TOUR OPERATOR IN LUXOR”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2011

I cannot thank Ehab enough for what he did for us in Luxor. We were on our way from Cairo to Aswan on a so called luxury 5 star train (very far from it--when in doubt rather fly) when we were literally pulled off the train and told that our tour itinerary had changed: we were now going from Luxor to Aswan and not the other way round. This was not his fault as he was sub-contracted by Ramses Tours, but he immediately recognized that we were severally pissed off as after the cruize we were supposed to travel by road from Luxor to Hurghada so now the trip would be 7 instead of 3 hours. His solution was the typical warm Egyptian hospitality on display throughout our trip. He took us to his home residence where we were able to freshen up and calm down. He was very hospitable and served us snacks and traditional Egypt tea.
After that things went from bad to brilliant. He took us all over Luxor, a surprisingly clean clean city (when compared to Cairo) , and showed us the myriad of mind boggling attractions in and around the city: the Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, the Temple of Karnak, the Temple of Luxor etc etc etc. The Karnak sound and light show was mind boggling: much better than the dated Giza show. We also went ballooning over the Valley of the Kings with Sinbad Balloons: an incredible experience, totally safe and very professionally run.
Ehab also paid for horse and carriage rides for us around Luxor and gave us a guided tour of the very busy market where the locals ply their wares and shop for fresh food.
He also organised representatives to meet us on all our stops along the Nile on our way to Aswan. We were always looked after and did not have to walk aimlessly around like a lot of our fellow travelers. Thanks again Ehab, your efficiency and warmth was greatly appreciated.

“Excellent Service with an Impeccable Smile”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2010

Ayman Youssif Boghdady aka Ehab not only sorted our Luxor tours (Temples, Valley of Kings, Hatesput, Memnon, Nile cruise, etc) solely via email, but he also had the courtesy of coordinating with our hotel to pick us up on arrival whilst arranging our privately guided tours.

He also went above and beyond in arranging our tours of Cairo (Memphis, Saqqara, Pyramids of Giza) and our last minute trip to Mount Sinai and St Catherine's Monastary.

Our guides were first class and made sure that we were taken care of.

Take from this review what you may, but honestly, Ehab made our trip so memorable that I highly recommend connecting with him should you be visiting Egypt for the first time.

In a country of over 83 million people, it's nice to have someone like him to rely on.
