We went to Jem's in early August 2011 and were devasted to find it closed for the 1st three nights of our holiday. Luckily, on the off chance, we went for a walk on the 4th night and were thrilled to find it open. The food can be Egyptian or European, it is entirely up to you. We went for a mixture, on recommendation from our waiter Ahmed, and were not dissapointed. Do not be put off by the entrance between the shops. Just enjoy your meal, watching the world role on by, overlooking the main street and the River Nile.
