You really know you are in Egypt when you stay at this hotel, the decor is beautiful and it really sets the mood, at night the mountains are lit up and the hotel has a beautiful view from the outdoor dining area.
The food is beautiful; on the first night we were served the chef's special bread and tahini dip complementary and was brought over the fire brazier by the hotel manager to keep warm, the pizza is traditional Egyptian pizza, my daughter had it at every meal and i thought it was the best i have ever eaten, the lunch boxes were also excellent and one box would have been enough for two people.
One afternoon we had a little spare time, I spent it in the garden drinking vodka and chatting to the manager, I also spent a little time working on my Egyptian with the staff, needless to say it was quite a fun afternoon. That day I wished I had booked more time there to just relax.
There were only a few small negatives and that was that the heater in the room wasn't working and the staff member who it was reported to did not offer a change of room, so we ordered more blankets instead, the hot water was an issue at first but worked fine by day 2, and putting your toilet paper in the bin would have been fine if the bin liner was replaced each day not emptied and only replaced every second or so days.
This is a budget hotel so don't expect phones, fridges, and TV's in rooms, but why would you want to watch TV when you can relax in the garden with a beautiful view of the Luxor mountains.
I will stay again.
