“Lovely place on Luxor's West Bank.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012 via mobile

We had a great stay at Hotel Sheherazade on Luxor's West Bank. The staff were very friendly from check-in to check-out, and helped us organise a car for the day to visit the Valley of the Kings etc for a reasonable price. The food was also good and they have a lovely garden to dine in. The owner, Mohammed, was very helpful & even looked up where our next hotel was in Aswan so that we could plan our time there! Brilliant. In particular the meat Moussaka was a highlight for dinner!

In other areas: wifi was good & fast enough for our needs, breakfast was fine, and the location is nice and close (easy walking distance) to the public ferry from the East Bank. We had a ground floor room, and it was perfectly adequate for our needs, with good hot water and a large double bed.

One tip we would give is to take up the hotel's offer of an airport pickup for LE150. We didn't and it took us significant bargaining to get a driver down to a price below that - and then is was a long way from the airport, so we probably bargained a little too hard in hindsight. Also bear in mind that this hotel only accepts cash, and at the time of our stay there were no ATMs on the West Bank.

Overall we would strongly recommend a stay at Hotel Sheherezade; it is great value for what you pay, and nice to escape from the hubbub & sometime hassle of Luxor's East Bank.

“Attention to detail”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

My time in Egypt was very special indeed and I felt most welcome during my stay at Hotel Sheherazade. All the staff were great! Extremely helpful and accommodating, they provided a very personal service and were on hand at all times, day or night. The hotel surroundings were spacious, airy and light. I treasured sitting up on the roof terrace and taking in the beauty of the landscape. Also, spending quiet time relaxing in the lush garden. The meals I had were very tasty and authentic. Being right by the stunning nile was an added bonus too. I would highly recommend Hotel Sheherazade to anyone and will definitely be returning!

“Authentic and Memorable Egypt”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

This is a super friendly place that understand great service. Clean and elegantly simple rooms, some with beautifully architectural ceilings, lovely roof top and ground floor garden hang out areas, very good food and help with anything you wanted to know was on offer. The West Bank is much less 'touristy' than the East Bank and I would highly recommend staying on this side of the river if you want a more real, more friendly and less hassled experience.

“My experience Nov 2012”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

The hotel staff were excellent, they looked after me so well and arranged any outings/trips that I asked for, they also suggested alternatives.

The rooms were cleaned daily and the staff prided themselves on what they achieved, different towel sculptures daily too.

The setting of the Hotel is in a quiet area of the westbank, close to shops and restaurants and also to the ferry terminal should you wish to explore in Luxor itself.

The food was cooked freshly as you ordered it and served in a lovely peaceful garden.

The view from the roof terrace was stunning.

I would definitely stay here again, the staff are so friendly and helpful.
