i have just had a two week stay at this hotel,march 2009,all inc,myself,wife and our two mates,had a very good time here, the hotel is not far from mama bay and nabq baythe hotel isabout 15 years old-ish,very clean and bright, the hotel staff were very polite to everyone,always a big smile on there faces everytime they saw you,
the bar/reception area was very good,never any queing for drinks,the restaraunt was spacious,but could do with a bit of a spring clean,the walls ceilings could do with a lick of paint etc.
the food was spot,plenty of choice,even for younger children,the pool area is very clean and well maintained,as is everything here.plenty of sun loungers,towels included,no need to get up at 3 in the morning to grab the best spot.
the hotel has some of the best kept gardens we have ever seen (spotless) there;s little streams branching off into all directions,our friends stayed in the bungalows,very well kept and maintained,i think they had there bedding changed daily.
the hotel grounds and gardens come into there own when lit up on a night.
the beach is a man made type,still there is plenty of loungers,very clean.
the sea is tidal,so can be ideal for younger children who like to explore the rocks,when the tides out you will find all sorts of little creatures
between the rocks,great fun.
also the snorkelling is excellent off the main jetty,the sea can be pretty rough and freezing some days,i would recommend buying or hiring a neoprene suit ( about £ 4 per day ) there is always a life guard on hand here all day.
the only downside to this holiday was there wasn't a lot of entertainment on the night,whether this was because its there winter we didn't know.
the 2 nd week they seemed to have a strong italian precence, so a lot of the entertainment was n italian ( we should have learned more at school )
on the whole though we had a great time we had a great time, this is the second time in egypt and i would recommend it to anyone else,especially if you want a good tan without checking the weather everyday ( it doesn't rain here )
some days it was touching the 90's here and this is there winter.
the sister hoter nubian island is also very nice,you can use both hotels....but the all inc does not carry on into this hotel,vice versa, so if you want a drink in the other hotel you either have to buy one or walk 15 mins back to the other hotel and get one free with the all inc..then walk back again, either you will drink it or spill it...oh well.
would i go back to this hotel....yes i would, but like most people you try different places each time you go abroad.
i would also just like to thank all the people who made my 50th one of the best nights ever ( you know who you are )
