What a treat to be able to retire to your room overlooking the city after a busy day in Cairo! Another traveler in these reviews complained about the location - I would disagree. The location is perfect because at the 'right' end of the city if you are heading to places like the pyramids, Memphis or Saqqarah. Would certainly recommend a walk along the Nile, cross the Galaa bridge to the opera house, then on to the Egyptian museum area and back along the other bank of the Nile to cross over and bask to the hotel on El-Gamea bridge. Not many westerners seem to walk around - big mistake: Cairo is a fascinating place to discover at a slow pace. People are extremely friendly and helpful. The staff at the Four Seasons are certainly that, with the added training that the chain is known for. Rooms perfect, good dining and our favourite: the Library bar - shows what a good decorator can do if you give him a blank cheque. The adjacent shopping mall is not really geared to Western tastes - obviously, but quite fun to see what Western brands produce for other markets.
