“Nice location not so good services”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

I chosed this hotel in Cairo because it was not expensive for a five stars and because it was away from Tahir square as I went during the protests for the new costitution. The room was big and the breakfast was nice as well. Problems came with the maids, it was really hard to get all the towels replaced, as the complimentary water, we had to ask at least twice everyday. All the beverage in the minibar were expired, I tried to tell that at reception but I never got them replaced, if you happen to be in room 1016 check if they are still there. No alcohlic offered in the menu but the manager assured me that if you ask you get whatever you want, I did not try.

We stayed mid Nov really loved the hotel so much and loved Cario. This was our first visit to Cario we shall be back . The room was very nice , cleaned to a high standard . The Breakfast was excellent. No faults what so ever. Safir was central for us we used the underground which was easy. We had come by train from Aswan and got a taxi to the Safir , the cab was very very old and battered with our suitecases on the top (not strapped on ) We pulled up and the door man told the taxi to move on . We said "no stay" it was so funny . The door man had a sense of humour and smiled when he knew we were guests .The taxi driver was a great . Any way our 6 days at the Safir could not have been better. Swimming is part of my life so the pool was important , it was nice and warm .

I've stayed at Hotel Safir in Dokki, twice and had a great experience both times. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms and amenities are high end and the breakfast has a lot of local and international options. It is located in Dokki which is close to everything (close is relative in Cairo with traffic :p) . Will stay there again.

The Safir Hotel is one of the most fantastic places that we have had the pleasure to visit in our world travels.

The accomodations are spacious and comfortable, there are plenty of ammenities, shops, restaurants, and bistros, and the hotel staff are some of the friendliest and most accomodating we have ever encountered!

Make sure to enjoy a relaxing dip in the pool, and try a poolside shisha; you will be thrilled at the experience!

We enjoyed our stay enormously, especially after the bad experience at the Grand Royal Hotel ! The room was large and spacious with lots of desks, tables and chairs and perfect lightening. The bathroom too was perfect and up to normal standards. One night, we had dinner at the swimming pool and it was amazing : the meat had been grilled in an old traditionnal way and was brought to the table on a mini charcoal grill so that the meat could cook some more and stayed warm. In a word : Perfect ! Breakfast was an Egyptian and International feast. Every day, different dishes ( hot and cold ) were served. I simply adored the Egyptian dishes that were almost prepared like in an "a la carte" restaurant. One thing could be better : we didn't get new teabags and creamer if we didn't ask for it and we had to ask for towels twice although the room had been cleaned.

Have stayed here before and still the place is very nice compared to other Cairo Hotels! Great Price for the value and one of the bests breakfasts of any Hotel I have stayed at anywhere around the world! Clean and nice rooms! Only drawback for the Hotel is that they need to either steam clean their carpets in the rooms or replace them. Dirty Carpets is the only issue for this Hotel. Great Place otherwise!

We stayed here with two small kids for five nights in executive room. The hotel is good tucked away from traffic in a quiet lane. Room was spacious and clean, staff is very helpful and accomodating. They helped us with cooking babyfood as we wanted, staff helped hire taxi outside the hotel. The breakfast platter is very good and staff very courteous. The chef is excellent and did excellent veg menu for us on request, very accomodating and pleasant service. pool area is nice though we didnt spend much time there and free wifi in lobby is good. Overall a very good stay and value for money. Only hitch or feedback - tea/coffee sachets/water in room didn't get replenished everyday and we had to ask everyday for the same to be stocked.

Room Tip: we had a room facing the pool with good view and breezy balcony.
