A ver elegant Hotel in the shadow of the Pyramids. I stayed in a suite decorated in ancient Egypt splendour. don't expect modern but very comfortable and feels like it is still the same as when Winston Churchill stayed there. Beautiful pool area for evening drinks and great service

Room Tip: The suites have a classic lounge area

One of the best if not the best hotel in cairo. Rooms are magnificent and viewing the pyramids. Everything is overwhelming and just great. The stuff is really friendly and every corner in the hotel deserves a picture!

This property is classic!! WOW. You enter the lobby and you've got the gilded appearance. The bar? The same. There is a fantastic Indian restaurant.......so great. And then.....the hotel! This is an aging beauty, okay? You are going to hold hands with an actress who was once so beautiful, but she is showing her age. This doesn't make it a bad thing! If you are going to get tricky about the size of the bed, or the pressure of the water, move on. What I LOVED was the location (the pyramids are seen from every window!!), what I didn't love is that if you are up close, the pyramid view also includes the parking lot of the employees. Y'know, I'll get over it and so will you. You are seeing the pyramids! The hotel has added a lovely terrace that is right up against ( in my mind) the Aman properties. The Amans are my favorite and this area does have the same feel.

Splurge on a 'palace' room or one of the historical rooms. You MUST. It is too fun not to. You'll feel like you are walking back in time. This hotel feels dated in a few ways, but the location is so great and the vibe so good, you kind of have to do it.

Room Tip: Ask for a historical room, a palace room, but ask if you can be as little offended as possible by co...

went to egypt with 9 of my fraternity brothers as we celebrated our 10 year anniversary in the frat.

Mena House is massive. Staff was awesome, never had a worry while at this property.

The even have a bank on the premises where we were able to exchange our American Dollars for Egyptian Pounds at no cost.

Wifi was a bit expensive for my blood, $20 US for 24 hours and it was only available in the Lobby, bummer!

A few of us had the Pyramid view!! To have the Pyramid right outside of your room as you walk up or relax on the balcony was a feat to behold! If I went back to Cairo and wanted to be near the pyramids, Mena House is my choice!

Room Tip: Get the Pyramid View!

Originally used to be the rest house of Khedive Ismail for him and his companions while hunting in desert around Giza pyramids in 1860s. However, this place was eventually prepared for guests at the inaugural celebrations for the Suez Canal. Later this house was sold to the private couple, who gave it its name – Mena – after first pharaoh of the Ancient Egypt. As years flown and more guests were visiting one of the world wonder, private house eventually switched into hotel – based on excellent architectonical proposal of Cairo-based English architect Henri Favarger.
If you have good budget you can be still accommodated in this hotel and enjoy fancy view at the pyramids. Or you can just enjoy having your meal in one of several restaurants. One of the best one, having beautiful view at the Great pyramid, is Khan el Khalili restaurant, serving traditional Egyptian meal as well as continental. The service is good, meal as well, serving as well alcoholic beverage. Prices are slightly higher, but still bearable and definitely worth for unique view at the pyramids. If you decide to have dinner there during ramadan, don´t forget make reservation in advance.

This place is paradise in the foot of the pyramids.
Our room with the view was amazing the staff friendly and helpful they were cleaning the pool at this hotel so they sent us a car for free to take us to the movenpick pool.
I traveled with my 4 year old son which the hotel were happy to also cater for dinner and breakfast. The food here is really good.
We had dinner in Khan el Khalili restaurant.
The hotel also offered us a free tour of the palace where we were given the chance to see the Montgomery suite the same that Barack Obama stayed in and the Curchill suite, also they took us onto the roof terrace where they lit up the pyramids.
If your visiting Giza and need a hotel stay here .
