“Knowledge tour guide, but too much time wasted with obligatory shopping”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

I used Egyptian Daily Tours last year for the Sphinx - Giza day trip. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, but that schedule includes a lot of time devoted to delivering customers to shops from which I suspect that guide receives some percentage of purchases. The rationale for delivering the customer to the shops is that the driver and guide need time to pray, so difficult to argue with, but there's a distinct feeling of being manipulated as everyone knows each other so well in these "tourist traps".

“Beautiful sights”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2012 via mobile

We got picked up at 9am, and our tour guide was on time. She took us around everywhere and was really lovely, she explained everything and made us feel very comfortable until.. She took us to three different shops where we got hassled into buying stuff (which we didn't) first was a clothing shop which clearly was owned by a friend of hers, second was a perfume shop where she left us, and the third was a paper shop.. Now I'm a very laid back person but this made me very annoyed seeing as the only reason we used this tour company was because they said they wouldn't do this!! She wanted to take us to another shop but we said we did not pay for this tour to go to random shops which have no reference to the pyramids!! At the end of the tour she said about giving tips, which we did give generously but she got very moody about this, god knows why! Not again thanks!!!

“Very Disappointed: Inexperienced Guide”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2012

We paid a premium price -- Egyptian Daily Tours said you get what you pay for. Well, we paid, but did not get a good guide at all. And the reason was his inexperience. He had been doing this for just a few months. We went on a tour in Israel, with another vendor, and the guide had a map to show things. This guide didn't. And this was a two day excursion. We were stuck.

The guide would go on and on an tell you all sorts of detail. But if you asked him a question, he couldn't answer. Instead he said he had to go through with his patter and somewhere within the answer would be found.

Finally, they nearly got us to our ship late. And instead of bringing us to the ship, which they said they could not do, they left us about 3/4th of a mile away. Yet other passengers we talked to with other services got dropped off at the ship.

If you do decide to go with these folks, don't pay extra. You get nothing for it. Ask for how many years the guide has been a solo tour guide. Of course, if they bait and switch you, what are you going to do?

“The perfect start to our Honeymoon!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2012 via mobile

Having only just returned from a whirlwind honeymoon I have got to say that choosing EDT as our tour guides whilst staying in Giza, Cairo was the perfect choice!
First and foremost our guide himself, namely Belal (Bello) was simply outstanding!
Extremely welcoming, professional yet personal and had exceptional knowledge about everything and anything!
Prompt and on time he was protective and very honest!
We spent 3 days in Giza and each day was filled with lots of exciting excursions!
Certainly would recommend EDT to anyone wanting to make the most out of their time in Cairo!
And if poss, ask for Belal...!
Thank you EDT for making our honeymoon memorable!

“I had one day in Cairo!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2012

I had one day in Cairo as a layover from a business trip to South Sudan. Visiting the pyramids with Egyptian Daily Tours was amazing. My tour guide Belo and driver Mohammed made the day very special. I felt safe and left with more history then I could've imagined. I plan on returning in the future with my wife and I'll definitely book my tour with them again!
