“Pizza Hut - Reasonable for a Casual Meal”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2012

I don't ofter got to Pizza Hut as there are so many other pizza places in Cairo that offer far more tasty pizzas but on the odd occasion, it's OK for a quick bite to eat. And to be honest, I do love Pizza Hut salads. There is always a delicious variety of things to put in your own salad and I adore their Thousand Island dressing. But I find the pizzas somewhat disappointing. I don't know if they make their own pizza bases or whether they buy them in, but the bases taste very much like the inferior pizza bases you can buy in the supermarkets in the UK, and they lack that delicious home baked Italian pizza base flavour. The toppings are nice enough although if like me, you like spicy pizzas, unfortunately the Pizza Huts in Cairo do not provide the shakers of dry crushed chilies like all the other Pizza Huts internationally and you only have the obsequious Heinz chili sauce to pour on, which doesn't give the same taste and isn't anywhere as tasty as the normal Arabic brands of chili sauce or Tabasco sauce, which at last would be acceptable alternatives for the dry crushed chilies. The staff are willing enough to lavish fresh chilies on your pizza if you ask before they cook the pizza, but the only problem is that the chilies they use are not the spicy sort of chilies, they are bland and taste no different from green peppers. So if you like spicy pizzas the do what a few friends of mine do, and secretly take out a bottle of Tabasco from your pocket or bag and give your pizza some 'whoomf.' I have only been to 2 Pizza Huts in Cairo a few times although I imagine they are all very similar - the one by the pyramids (which has a wonderful view and is worth the disappointing pizza base, and the Pizza Hut by Morgamma, Tahrir Square which is an easily accessed place to eat around there and is definitely worth the visit just to see the moving and dramatic street are on the walls nearby, showing scenes from the revolution. The coffee there is pleasant enough, but for desert headown to Cilantro's which is nearby and have their delicious chocolate cake, a scoop of their vanilla ice cream and some tasty coffee.

“Pizza”

I am not a great pizza fan but my companions insisted on this. I was impressed that I could have another menu choice, but did not enjoy the restaurant as the smell of the pizza was overpowering.

“tasty and filling”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2012

the Cairo pizza huts make good pizzas much better than the ones you can have in Europe and very much like the ones served in the US ;price promotions are frequent but prices are high with regards to Cairo standards ;we checked the one in Zamalek ,near the Flamenco Hotel
