“Boring”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2012 via mobile

It's not somewhere to visit unless you really want to buy some art work. We went there as part of an excursion it was pretty boring after 5 minutes and the toilets was disgusting. Take loo roll and anti bacterial gel.

“Excellent place to see and buy Papyrus paintings”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2012

During our recent tour to Cairo, our tourist guide Walid took us to this govt. institute. There is a very good collection of Papyrus , ancient egyptian art. Prices are reasonable and its of very good quality.
Its amazing how well they make these painting on papyrus. If you have children they also show them how to make papyrus from the plant and give them some free goodies. Worth going if you at Cairo. This place is very close to Sphinx. Going with Walid was useful, since he can provide you good background and since he speaks english quite well, its easy to follow. he can be reached at www.egypttailormade.net

“Papyrus institute”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2012

Reading reviews of various travelers, I find them vary form excellent to poor. It seems that they don’t visit the same place. From experience I would recommend certified places that would give a brief presentation first of making papyrus in ancient Egypt with a friendly shopping experience option. Registered place could be secure when it comes to quality paper and painting, and hassle free refund and exchange, a service that would not be available with street shops and venders.

“papyrus”

The prices are on the goods, and their beauty and craftmanship is enough to secure a sale! Every visitor to Egypt should take home this lasting souvenir to grace the walls at home.
