This place is great. We intended to stay at the Hotel Longchamps but it was full, so we took a chance on the houseboat and loved it. Booked 2 rooms. We spent our time on the shared balcony staring out at the Nile. It was lovely, an oasis. While the rest of Cairo was smogged out, we breathed fresh air. No mosquitoes, probably because there is a breeze off the water even when the rest of Cairo air is still. There's a rowing club across the river so it's fun to watch the boats. It's a quick walk across the bridge to Zamalek and a cheap taxi (less than a dollar) home. Dan, the owner, arranged for airport pickup (recommended). He’s a great source of info on Cairo. Wifi was good. Stay here.
