“Must visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

The setting is awesome and takes you back few decades in the old Cairo, few things you must try, one of the shisha cafés, enjoy tea and shisha if u smoke, try eating at one of the local restaurants, doesn't look encouraging, but the food is delicious, and if you are after buying souvenirs, you need to bargain a lot (50%), it might be the only place where u will find all kind of Egyptian souvenirs (made in China) at the same place.

“I didn't find anything interesting to buy here”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2014

I personally found this local market to be not that interesting at all - a lot of souvenirs "made in China." Come here to experience the market but just take your time walking around, I just didn't find anything worth bringing home to remember Egypt by.

“Haggle”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2014

We were taken here by our tour guide, prices are higher than those around other parts of Egypt. But you can haggle all the prices down if you find something you must have. All the shops sell basically the same stuff so don't be afraid to move on if the shopkeeper refuses to budge on price. Gets kind of crowded without the amount of people here, so keep an eye on your pockets. Easier when you're part of a group, as its not the easiest place to navigate alone.

“Best place for Souvenirs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2014

Best place for tourist to buy Souvenirs. you need to bargain for 40 to 50% & if that shopkeeper agrees then take it because if you leave & come back again he will not give you in the same agreed price. you should go in the evening when the whether is pleasant & you will enjoy haggling.
