“Fascinating Nile view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

We stayed at Grand Nile (ex Grand Hyatt) 5 days. Magical Nile view from our room and balcony.Very nice breakfast, don't forget to taste fresh juices of guava and strawberry. Rooms are clean but decoration is not so special. There are some restaurants like italian, indian, we liked Japanese most of all. Very nice pool and spa. We also visited Revolving restaurant at 41 floor. You can see all the city from there. Breathtaking view. Negative : They bind money from your credit card for the bar in the room upon arrival(100 euros for 2 persons).

Staying at the hotel was an absolute pleasure. Despite the fact that there are very few tourists in Cairo right now due to the political situation and consequentially also only a few guests at this hotel, all that the hotel has to offer was kept to extremely high standards. The rooms are excellent, with very good sound proofing. The whole hotel is nice and clean. There is an abundance of friendly staff that will provide you with everything you want and need.

Very good and pleasant hotel.

Fantastic lobby and swimmingpool. Pleasant staff, beautiful breakfast. Clean and fine rooms with balcony, beds to dream in. 'Dry hotel' where double espresso is the strongest you can buy.

Super service and very nice staff.

The premises is located in Garden City - a western styled area populated by diplomats, spouses and affluent offsprings.

We returned from a fantastic trip to egypt that started and ended at this wonderful hotel in Cairo. We spent in total 5 days there and were not disappointed. From the spectacular Nile view to the great food in the restaurants and the attentive service, we had no complaints. The hotel was virtually deserted of guests because of the troubles in Cairo, but we felt totally safe.

Room Tip: nile view a must

i planned & made my wedding there..it was perfect & very nice how they care about every detail in both services or wedding plan, i stayed there for 2 days after the wedding in a royal suite it was big with dressing room, receiption with balcony, clean bathroom with small room inside as a locker & a 180 nile view bedroom :) it was like you are flying over the nile :) it has a big Tv & a safe .. every thing was clean & the room service is very fast to respond and delivering your requirements..staff was very very friendly all the time & they did special services like extra roses in the room or deleicuos dinner because of our case..the hotel is very big with extinction mall building & cinema..they have alot of facilities like resturants & nile trip with there own yacht with dinner if you want.

at last i picked the right place & it was good memorial days of my life :)

Room Tip: try to get the highest rooms for amazing view

We spent 3 days here on vacation. The view from the rooms is great, each room also has a small balcony to enjoy the view.
The hotel is is in a nice location, within walking distance of Tahrir square, and other attractions on Rawda, It is also a short walk to the Metro station.
Breakfast buffet is excellent, though limited mostly to western-style continental - unlimited mango juice, homemade jams, and fresh honey, though! and a large omelette station.
The hotel has a good variety of restaurants, though pricey, but it also has a food-court-in-mall style restaurant for cheap light meals.
The restaurants are located nicely along the bank of the Nile, and I am sure, must have a great ambience during the summer.
The bathroom shower tub has a half door, but which is designed well enough that one can have a fairly vigourous shower without flooding the room.
Wifi is available for a fee in the business centre only.

Room Tip: All rooms overlook the Nile, but you can also see the pyramids from the south facing rooms. The nor...

One of the best hotels in Cairo, situated bang on the Nile in the Garden City area of Cairo.

Large, interesting lobby consisting of several levels, with a transparent piano ( and a transparent piano player, since we never saw him!)

Very comfortable rooms with excellent amenities and first class sound proofing. This is important as the area around the Nile can be noisy especially with the party boats with their blaring music.

Ther breakfast buffet was excellent and for othr meals there is a food court with several up market restaurants faturing Indian, Thai, Teppanyaki etc. A lovely feature is that you can be served "al fresco" on the deck from any of these restaurants.

There is a revolving restaurant on the 40th floor that does the round in 75 minutes, so no discomfort there.

A small bridge joins the hotel to one of the streets of the Garden City and the pavement offers a pleasant walk all the way up to the bridges.

For whatever reason the hotel does not serve alchohol, not even in the rooms. So, carry your own!

Room Tip: I would always go for a high floor, Nile facing room as that is the USP of this property
