“very bad handling specially to Egyptians”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2014

the first question in the reception is : are you Egyptian? if yes you will find: your room in the 4th floor with out a lift, the television is working but with no channels, the bathroom is not very good.

Room Tip: do not choose 4th floor

This place is ideal for those wanting to be in the heart of Cairo yet stay in a peaceful and safe area (Zamalek). Walking distance to Downtown Cairo, lots of great restaurants and cafes around plus you have some great nile-front cafes/restaurants such as Left Bank and Lemon Tree Co within walking distance which is PERFECT.

Rooms and hotel itself is dated and quite simple. Nothing luxurious, nothing fancy, but the price is good, area is safe, staff is friendly and rooms are clean so I couldn't complain !

Would definitely stay there again when in Cairo and recommend it to friends wanting a clean ccommodation in good location.

Came here with a group of ladies in March as we were unable to stay in our usual downtown location due to the troubles still happening there. Have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. A bit dated nevertheless the rooms were spacious and the bathrooms all worked great. The very top floors have some lovely roof terraces which are a real treat. Breakfast buffet was plentiful. Best bit of this hotel is its location. Very accessible location and easy to walk around the area and feel rested!

Room Tip: Ask for a roof terrace room

Arriving exhausted in the evening. The unprofessional desk clerk could not find my reservation. It did not help that I had a written receipt for my prepaid night and could show the charge to my credit card. He tried to sell me a hotel night at a higher rate. I was shown a room - dirty, dingy, smelly. The elevator was "out of order" (sign on one elevator door) the other malfunctioned and got stuck at every half floor on the way to the11th floor - a huge gap between the floor of the elevator and the wall. Extremely dangerous. The place was dirty, smelly, dangerous and should be closed down. I have loved Egypt for years, but if this is where the country is headed - too bad. Of course the kid at the front desk tried to blame the whole world, including the travel agent, the booking site. Awful place.

Room Tip: None - stay away

Aside for a very kind staff and its location, it is not very much worth the cost. The rooms are dark and run-down, the bathrooms do not look clean at all and the carpets are in need of substitution (or at least a decent clean up). Breakfast is included in the room rate but it is nothing extraordinary. For the price they ask, you can find better accommodations. Nonetheless, the beds are very comfortable and, as previously mentioned, the staff is very welcoming and available.

This hotel is ok but definitely not worth the price due to the rooms. Rooms are big and spacious but outdated. Carpets are worn and shoddy. Empty fridge in rooms so no mini bar. No kettle etc
Hotel staff are very nice however and moved myself and baby to another room when requested due to the faulty a/c. Breakfast is good.
Overall just not worth the price but ok if you don't mind staying in an outdated hotel

This hotel is very well located and has a very nice restaurant with nice views of the city. The rooms are avarage, the food is avarage and it is over all a bit old. Colours a dim and furniture is old. The service is very good and the employees are very kind. I travleled there in Feb 2011.
