Delta Pyramids Hotel in Giza, Egypt is across the river Nile from Cairo and close to the Pyramids of Giza. You get a breathtaking view of the Pyramids from the hotel. Early morning view with the mist is fantastic. If only the noise of the automobiles are not there, you will be transported thousands of year back in memory lane.

The hotel has simple rooms, basic television channels and a nice breakfast. But, as in most of Egypt, is very noisy. In fact, the first night we spent in the hotel, we were in the 2nd floor and could hardly sleep due to night-long disturbance by roadside traffic.

We left our luggage in the hotel when we proceeded for the Luxor visit & Nile cruise and the hotel had good arrangements to take care of left luggage.

I have just read a few reviews of Delta pyramids, we stayed for eight days and found the service better than anywhere we have ever stayed, the room we stayed in on the eighth floor was perfectly clean and free of any insects. The room was cleaned every day to a very high standard, sheets changed every two days, towels changed daily, air conditioning, television receiving many channels including english and the bathroom was perfectly clean and had everything needed. The reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The dining room staff went out of there way to serve and nothing was too much trouble to them. we made many friends there with the most honest and friendly people we have ever met and will stay there again. Allan and Marie Scowcroft. Derbyshire

I don't know how to explain how bad this hotel really is! The floor carpet was so dirty you could see it colour just stains! The bathroom was just a awful nightmare! But worst of all was the sound level at night! You where sleeping next to highway with no windows!
The breakfast service in the morning was a big mess with hotel staff running around like crazy doing nothing!?

Stay for one night only if passing through Cairo; anymore than that- book elsewhere.
It's a one hour drive from airport; but, so are the Pyramids so if you're to see them it's a good location. Hotel in an area of city that has nothing redeeming to mention. Filthy area with no amenities.Taxi to hotel from airport 80EP. The staff on arrival was very friendly and helpful. Other reviews complain this hotel is dirty and infested; but, I fould it acceptably clean (not easily offended) and no bugs or mice seen. As to dirty, the whole of Cairo is dirty so unless you're going 5-star what would someone expect? The room was small and adequate, no english TV channels, the bathroom was in serious need of update but again adequate; Bare lightbukbs, shower cutain hung by thin wire, sink sprayer attached to toilet. Not sure of it's intended use (?!). The room had two adjoining doors to other rooms; but, they were only single doors so probably not very secure and there was noise from other rooms too. Someone shook the door knob late at night as if trying to get in. A quick shout stoppd that action!
Rooftop view of Pyramids great both day and night. Roof top pool open; but, I wouldn't risk a dip as it didn't look clean enough. Cloudy water. Rooftop restuarant was open the night I was there. Despite smoke from grill the staff was good and the food was too. mixed Grill plate was 55EP. No Alcohol of any sort.
Stay again - probably not unless desperate for a room.

Very disappointing. The traffic noise is incessant throughout the night, so you probably won't get much sleep. Doesn't help by having single-glazed windows so you feel as though you're right on the street. Breakfast buffet is ok and the restaurant is limited but reasonable. This hotel actually has two names; Delta Casablanca and Delta Pyramids which means great confusion for guests (and taxi drivers!)

I asked for a blanket one day but it had actually been taken from my room by the evening as had the other bed. Service was quite lacking. This is a basic, budget place, quite rough at the edges but it gives you a roof over your head with little comfort and if you take a room at the front you are guaranteed hardly any sleep.

The only saving grace is that you can draw your curtains in the morning and almost touch the Pyramids. Ok for one or two nights, and then go somewhere else for some sleep.

The views from this hotel are excellent, staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooftop bar is very nice. Do use the coffee shop and room service rather than eating downstairs. If you do this then your stay will be fine. The noise though is terrible as every driver's favorite toy is their horn 24 hrs a day! We found 3 days in Cairo was enough to do all the sites - the museum, giza, lightshow, memphis, saqqara and Dashur. Dashur is a must. The Red Pyramid is older and inside is far superior to the Great pyramid at Giza. You are also left alone at this site - noone hassling you - you can actually enjoy the place for what it is!

This is the most IMPORTANT thing we found from our stay. You need a taxi driver you can rely on and trust. Our first driver was not - his name was Raffa and he ripped us off for every penny he could and would constantly take us where he wanted us to go. Every place he took us was 'on the take' and he was making a big fat commission. He was a very greedy man and almost completely ruined our stay. BUT, we finally worked out what was going on and found ourselves the most friendly, polite, happy, fair and trustworthy taxi driver you could ever imagine. WALID is his name and he loves people and his job. He won't mess you about, but his knowledge is extensive and he can advise you excellently. His prices are fair. I WOULD NOT USE ANYONE ELSE OTHER THAN WALID, WHETHER IT IS IN CAIRO, ALEXANDRIA OR ANYWHERE IN EGYPT. Wherever you go ask for this man. Trust me, your stay will be so much better and you will leave Egypt having met a new friend and a lovely man. His details are [--] and mobile [--]. Book him to pick you up from the airport and take it from there. You wont be disappointed and ripped off like we originally were with the other driver.
