We stayed at the Nile Hilton for a week in March '08. The room was a nice size with comfortable furnishings. I'll admit that the exterior of the hotel is less than attractive, but you really can't beat the location. We were within easy walking distance of great sites and a number of restaurants (all of which were sub-par, but that's Cairene food for you generally). We were most pleasantly surprised by the staff, most of which spoke enough English to converse easily and all of which were very friendly and helpful. A tip - the hotel's car service is a great value. We were able to have a driver take us to the local sites, stay there while we toured, then take us on to the next site or back to the hotel for a very good price.

Fabulous hotel, the staff were all very helpful and polite. On arrival we were upgraded to a suite. Really enjoyed the experience. Check out the roof top bar it's fantastic.

I spent 4 nights here last week. This is a good hotel, in a good location. Its not 5* by European standards, and is a little rough round the edges in places, but overall, it was still a nice place.

For example, reception is clean and nicely decorated. The rooms are clean, but dated. The carpet in the room we had had obviously been pieced together. But unless you go to a hotel purely for the room, this shouldn't be a problem.

The hotel facilities are good, the staff are very friendly and helpful. There are a good selection of bars and restaurants, particularly the rooftop bar overlooking the Nile with good lounge music and mojitos.

Breakfast is plentiful and was adequate even for me as a vegan. The location was really good too, literally moments from the museum and across the road from the Nile.

Cairo as a whole was much nicer than i expected, you don't get as much hassle from locals expecting tips just for asking you where you're from as you do in Tunisia.

If i were to return to Cairo i wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Nile Hilton again.

We had 2 double rooms booked in nile hilton during our trip to egypt. We sent our first nite in egypt in this hotel and our last nite of stay in egypt was also booked at hilton. The first nite stay was comfortable. The staff is frinedly but always hinting for tips. The second time we stayed at hilton we got an upgrade from standard double room to a suite which was very lucky and rooms were available to us at 7 am plus our check out time was extended to 1 pm the next day. So all these points made us appreciate the hotel even more.
