The rooms are very basic, the breakfast quite basic too, but the good points about this small hotel are 1) it's great location on Talaad Harb Square, just 5 minutes from Tahrir Square, but still safe. 2) price - very reasonable considering the great location and 3) the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.
I also enjoyed sitting in the reception area/breakfast room overlooking the busy square.
If you're looking for luxury and comfort, not the place, but basic budget accommodations and friendly staff, this is the place. I'll definitely go back next time in Cairo!
A tip for breakfast - Groppi, a famous confiserie seen better days still has good coffee and croissants and is 1 minute away. For a better breakfast, don't miss Cafe Riche - 2 minutes walk away on Talaat Harb Street. They open at 10am.
