Stayed at the Fairmont Heliopolis recently on a business trip to Cairo. The Heliopolis was a great choice as most of our business was right near the hotel. It was definitely the smart choice to stay here as the traffic coming and going from the center of town was a nightmare.
The front desk staff, concierge, and everyone else I interacted with we're always very helpful, extremely accommodating, and were always smiling.
I stayed in the new towers and the room was very nice. Very spacious, nice big bed, big TV, and a wonderful bathroom with a rain shower. As others have noted the internet was kind of slow.
The breakfast included in our roommate was pretty standard. Decent but nothing to write home about. During my time at the hotel I also dined at the Lebanese restaurant, Italian restaurant, lobby bar and the French cafe. The food and service all of them was excellent however, a bit slow.
As someone else said, the gym is in the old wing of the hotel so for those staying in the new tower it is a bit of a hike to get to. Otherwise the fitness center had everything one would need, including a nice spa hot tub.
Overall, I was quite happy with my stay.
