“Great restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

Sequoia is definitelly one of my favourite restaurants in Cairo. The view on the North point of Zamalek is great, lots of atmosphere, great service, wide choice of shisha. It offers 2 different menus, so, besides the traditional lebanese food you have the japanese option as well.
While sushi and sashimis are always good and fresh i have to say the lebanese food is nothing special. Be aware that there is always a minimum charge of 150 E.P. per person.
Anyway this is a must see place, especially for the evening. Don't forget to reserve your table as Sequoia is always fully booked.

“Spectacular Nile and Classy Place !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

This is one hell of a place for everyone to relax, enjoy a family or s couple dinner ..etc . It's a place which provides the guest with any atmosphere needed .. I have went there many times with my beloved finance or family as its considered one of the best places in Egypt especially for its Nile view ...

The food variety is amazing including oriental Egyptian food , Mediterranean & Western food ... The mix grill , shawerma , Molokaya ,Fattah ,vine leaves ,mom bar are just delicious ....the sea food iOS great as well especially the shrimp Konafa ... The desert is just tasty and takes you all over the world ...I can't forget that shisha is available there for smokers ...with different tobacco tastes and mixtures to moan a shisha with a Nile view and a nice weather ...Amazing place definitely the place to go if you are in Egypt !... The place minimum charge is 150 EGP per person you are talking about a range of 20-30$ ...Pretty nice!

“Incomparable location; delicious food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

We were visiting our daughter in Cairo and took a largish group (9) of her fellow interns to dinner. They selected the restaurant, and ordered the food, and we couldn't have enjoyed it more. Let's start with the location. Sequoia sits on the Nile, and the view is spectacular. The space is attractively decorated, almost like a tent in an oasis. Leaving the chaos of Cairo's traffic, it is an immediate breath of fresh air. Now for the food. We ordered a dozen mezze plates, and weren't disappointed in any of them. And while the portions were large enough to satisfy our appetites, the interns had been saving their appetites and ordered full dinners, too. I had a taste of several, and again thought they were all delicious. What about the prices? I have to say I was pleasantly surprised - $350 for 9 people, all that food, plus drinks and wine, too. I really don't understand the review that complained about the prices. For all that we got in food and ambience, I think it was a bargain. Anything negative? Well, like almost everywhere we travelled in Egypt, the service is a bit spotty, but even with that, Sequoia was definitely the best food we had in Egypt.

“Great local food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

Perfect location by the Nile. We were not bothered by other diners' noise and the music was not too obtrusive either. The staff were perhaps too attentive in wanting to clear things before you had finished with them. You must eat 150 LE of food each which we thought would mean a lot of food but we had two mains and two desserts and as the beer and water is expensive it sure adds up. Tax of 22 percent and then cover charge and then an extra tax which looked like an entrance tax (?) was added. Then there's the tip even though it should be the service charge. All up 380LE for very nice food. Plenty of tables, go with friends.
