“"Outstanding Hotel"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2010

This is arguably one of the best hotels I have ever stayed. Despite only its 4 star status, the quality of the service of the staff here was exceptional. The rooms were very clean and spacious. the Location was superb with the subway virtually just outside of the hotel. And being right in the middle of all the shopping, nightlife, theaters, this place was really good. I was particularly impressed by the hotel staff who were truly of great assistance. Not only were they ever ready to provide service, they did it always with a smile on their face. Moreover, this hotel provides hotel shuttle to some tourists spots at 2 times daily so it makes traveling around Seoul pretty convenient. Once again, for anyone who wants an excellent location in the heart of Seoul, coupled with fine hospitality, this is definitely the hotel to stay at. I would definitely come back here again should I return to Seoul

Stayed 4 nights in late May 2010. This hotel was a good option for a first stay in Seoul. The hotel is a 19 story building, the reception is on the last floor.

When booking I requested a room on the highest floor and far away from the elevators. At check-I was given room #1812 that is on 18th floor and at the end of a corridor far away from the elevator. Therefore the room was very quiet even the view over the next building was not great.
The room was clean and large enough for 2 persons and theirs luggage. The double bed was comfortable. The mini-fridge could only contain 2-3 cans. The in-room safe was too small to fit a 15” laptop. On the desk there were a plug for complementary internet and 2 electric plugs (1 french type and 1 american type). The bathroom has a shower cabin, no bathtub. It was clean and a bit on small.

Location of this Ibis was great. Airport buses from/to the airports stop right in front of the hotel: limousine bus #6015 from/to Incheon and limousine bus #6001 from.to Gimpo. Euljiro 1 station on metro line #2 is less than 5 min walk. It is also less than 5 min walk from Lotte hotel that is a drop stop when coming back from DMZ / Panmunjom tours.
The hotel is also next Myeong-dong market, very lively place with plenty of shops and restaurants catering to locals. At evening, street vendors open their stalls and sell locals foods.

We stayed here for four nights July 10-14. Overall we liked the hotel, and it far surpassed two other hotels we have previously used in Seoul. As others have said, it is a great location, very convenient to the subway and even walking to some sites. We booked a king suite with breakfast (we weren't paying). The breakfasts were fine, but we found that they were discounting breakfasts; so it may have been cheaper to get the room without breakfast. A few minor points: lack of drawers in the room (very modern decor) and most amenities are sold from vending machines and not provided in the room.

The service is nice, the rooms are clean, everything is exactly as it should be. The location is perfect. You can go outside and do some shopping, have some drinks - there are very good restaurants, local izakayas and small shops in the street, or take a cap and go to hongdae for a longer night out - it's a 10' inexpensive ride.

Highly recommended in Seoul.

We have booked this hotel in order to be at a live area of Seoul. It is a comfortable quiet hotel in an area near shops and restaurants. Free internet connection at the rooms. Plenty of cafés, restaurants and shops at proximity. Next to big shops and a shopping street. Convenient for business and leisure trips.

Having stayed twice in this hotel in the last month, I must say I'm most impressed by the great service that is given to it's patrons, so fast, so efficient, so courteous. Unusually, they have an initial reception on the ground floor lobby, then you proceed to the top floor (19) to book in.I put it down to jet-lag (or old age), but having discovered that I'd left my hand luggage on the airport bus that drops you at the hotel door, I spoke to the young male receptionist in the lobby, and he immediately was locating my bag, and assuring me that it would be in my room within the hour, as he would go personally to retrieve it. So I booked in upstairs, went to my room , and by the time I had unpacked, the other bag was delivered. You can imagine how gratefull I was to have it again, and proceeded to give the lad a large tip. No matter how much I insisted, he would not accept any thing ,as it was all part of the hotel service,he declared. I'm ashamed to say that I took the lad's name to recommend him to management, but unfortunately lost it in my consequent travels in Europe.
He , and the rest of the young staff at this hotel were wonderful in their attention and service on both my stays, and I would gladly recommend the Ibis to all those intending to visit Seoul.

We were given a clean and comfortable non-smoking room. The bedroom was much larger than we expected after reading other reviews. The bathroom was small but adequate. Staff were friendly and efficient with good English. Buses to both domestic and international airports stop right outside the door. There is a colourful night market with food stalls etc.nearby, also a large number of shops and restaurants. Try the basement food hall at the Lotte Department Store (using the subway to cross the road) for a cheap and tasty meal. Wouldn't hesitate to use this hotel again if spending time in Seoul.
