“Great value, excellent location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2014

Great for shopping, restaurants and cafes. 3 minute walk to subway. Rooms are clean, but a bit small. Breakfast is good, staff are friendly and overall a good place to stay in Myeongdong. We'll be back!

perfect for shoppers. restaurants, cafe, boutqiues nearby. 3-min walk to subway.
small but clean room. v similar to those in tokyo and osaka.
i stayed on 3/f, bit noisy outside at 3am as those drunks were singing and yelling on streets.
no breakfast as cafe was under renovation. but they offered free sandwiches. better than none.

Booked this hotel because of great reviews! They even rang us to tell us about the building works! We decided to come as they said building would be 9-6 so we thought it would be fine.they emailed us to make sure we were still coming about 5 days before arrival . Easy to get to from the 6015 bus minutes from hotel but was Informed no breakfast available because of refurbishment no laundry either but they do send it off for you! They provide a sandwich for breakfast and juice, room spacious and comfortable but so noisy on the 3rd floor! Busy area that is noisy till about midnight! Building work starts around 8 not 9! Staff are lovely we got a card and wine on arrival for our anniversary! Shopping is great in the area doormen always polite.a shame about the noise the rooms need soundproofing, plus we felt the management should have told us about no restaurant and work starts around 8 not 9! So mixed feelings

We spent our holiday here for 3 nights. The room was nice and comforable enough . The location was in center of downtown Seoul, staffs were helpful enough but the breakfast with not as our taste. Hope the food could be more changed in our next visit. The hotel was good enough for a short stay.

I booked this hotel on the strength of the reviews but I ended up disappointed. I stayed there last week for 4 nights. The staff is great, always very helpful, you can't beat the location in the heart of the shopping district, the linen & towels... all felt very clean and crisp, beds are hard (I love them that way). BUT everything is just in shades of brown (apart from reception) and makes the whole place very dark. The light from the window is just not enough: you must have the lights on all the time. And the hallway (3rd floor) and room were so cold, I had to have the air conditioning on high all the time to get any heat. I am usually complaining about how stuffy and overheated hotels are but this one was completely the opposite. it even felt damp, as if there had been no heating in the room for days on end. The 'air fresheners' in the corridor gave a very powerful but unpleasant smell that got into the bedroom: very unpleasant. The breakfast room is bright but still in those shades of brown (carpet, furniture, tablecloths...) everywhere. The plain yoghurt in a bowl was very nice and getting eggs made order is also very good. The whole Myeongdong area closes at 11pm so noise dies down after that. I had received an email from the hotel about the rebuilding they are doing at the moment and the noise but builders did stick to the 9am start religiously. I had been attending a conference at the very posh and expensive Lotte Hotel so the location was perfect for me but I think I will book the Ibis hotel when I return next year.

Perfect location if you're shopping for that perfect gift. The Metro is located at a great spot for your forays out into the heart of the Myeongdong area of Seoul. The downside is that this area of Seoul closes up "early" so you if you want the late night you have to get a taxi though this isn't too big a deal. tt's in the mist of great food and a couple of blocks away is the the UNESCA Theatre that hosts the show "Nanta", which is a bit like a Korean "Stomp". I recommend this hotel highly if you want a more Western type hotel in the the heart of a major shopping mecca. It's a solid choice but lacks Korean charm.

I stayed at the hotel during my trip in November 2013 and booked the "Business room" for a single person. The staff were very nice and helpful and checking in was a breeze!

Location: It is 3 to 4 walking distance from the "airport bus stop" but first timer may find it difficult to navigate as there is a need to turn into a small road that leads to the hotel. Location is very central, near to the subway and located on a stretch of eateries. Oh btw, there is a "Miss Lee cafe" right opposite the hotel.

Room: The Business room is for single traveller – room has a queen size bed and would be comfortable for 2 pax. Room is very cozy and the bathroom is huge and comes with comprehensive toiletries.

This is 1 of the few hotels which I am impressed with. Highly recommend my friends and family to book with this hotel!
