“Utterly dreadful in every way”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

There is nothing redeeming about this hotel, unless perhaps you are some kind of history freak who wants to know what life was like in the 1970s. Two tiny bottles of water for a family of four, when I went to ask where the drinking water was, I was told I had to wait tomorrow until the bottles would be replaced.

We paid 75,000 won for a ondol room which is just a floor (OK we did know this) but with no other facilities besides the poor and pokey bathroom.

We booked because we remembered the name but didn't look at online reviews beforehand. Clearly the kind of people who do, don't go to this hotel - the clientele are mostly mainland Chinese tour groups who lurk in the lobby with plasters over their freshly plastic surgeried new noses.

It's not even worth a refit, the whole place should be knocked down and turned into apartments.

Room Tip: Try another hotel.

Hi, i have stay 3 nights for a business trip, choosing this hotel because of its location, to be honnest, this hotel must have been a very big successful hotel back in 50's / 60's.
The hotel is outdated. Very old . Furniture is old, bed is not comfortable, electricity I had the fear that everything will go on fire.... Bring with you your own shampoo and soap. Those are in the mini bar chargeable, did I say chargeable? In fact everything is chargeable in this hotel, swimmingpool , I would never go again to this place,

Stayed at this hotel for two nights in a twin rooms with my friends. Room was in average condition, needed to be partially improved. Overall was OK. Breakfast was good. Free Wifi in lobby. The best thing was that 7-11 shop is located at the opposite of the hotel, very few steps. In addition, the hotel is located in a night life location, five minutes walk to restaurants, pubs, clubs etc.

Been Stationed in Korea for two years and have been to many Korean hotels that cost far less than the $175.00 I paid for the substandard Hotel Capitol.

Sign was turned off so finding the place while driving at night was very difficult.

Room was 15X15 foot and did not have even a cushioned chair to relax in. There was no Shampoo in the bathroom and the tub was small. The onsite currency exchange trades dollar to won at a much lower rate than the national rate.

There was little Western style food to eat at the buffet and the restaurant staff was inattentive. Was charged $7.00 for a bottle of soda and dinner for two adults and two toddlers was $96.00.

Felt like I was being bent over. Take it from a GI this place is a rip-off.

My family and I check-in thru tour group. The 1st room had leaking ceiling and stained bathtub. The 2nd room looked renovated except that the floor had patches of white plastal. Both rooms were dimly lit and did not have the temperature regulated heater. The heater only has 3 modes; low, medium and high. It was quite stuffy even when the heater was at low. I solved this problem by opening the window a little bit. Strains of hair were found in the bathtub and sink ! Kind of disgusting and obviously the housekeeping did not do a good job !

Each room came with a kettle, 2 bottles of drinking water and 2 glasses. No spoon and mug. The bed and pillows were not comfortable. I had a stiff neck after 1 night of sleep.

Free wifi at the hotel lobby.

A short walking distance to 2 24 hour convenient store,

This hotel caters to large low budget groups. When we arrived we learned that they offer no in room amenities and they expect you to pay for shampoo so don't forget yours. Very out dated hotel, box spring mattresses that require immediate change. The staff barely smiles and barely acknowled their guests. The housekeeping department needs immediate training on bath room cleaning. . There is mildew on bathroom door base from water. Breakfast is ok but nothing special. This place needs a total makeover and professional staff.

I’m going to keep this really simple. DO NOT stay at this hotel if you want the following:

1. Friendly service
2. Shampoo in the room
3. Iron/Ironing board
4. Wireless
5. Comfortable bed
6. No must or smoke smell in your room
7. Appetizing breakfast
8. Shower curtains that are long enough to not flood the bathroom floor
9. Fitness center equipment made after 1980
