This was my first time traveling alone to Seoul and since I was on a budget, I found that this place had great reviews compared to its price. I decided to take a leap of faith and book this hotel. I'm glad I did. Unfortunately, coming from California, the only available flights to Seoul arrives at night, so I ended up checking in late and getting a room in the basement. Thankfully, someone from the hotel was there to help me. I was really tired from the flight so that was a plus. This place was hard to find at first, but by the time i checked out from my 1 and a half week stay, it became easier because construction of a main road was complete so there was more open space. To get here, take the exit 8 of the SInchon station, then right when you get off, turn left into the alley towards lotteria and dunkin donuts. Then turn right once you reach the intersection then turn left. You should see a small, pink, "WS Hotel" sign leading to an alley. The hotel is there.
As for the hotel. It was very small (since i had a 1 person room), but very cozy and comfortable. I only needed a place to stay so the lack of space didn't bother me. They provided 2 bottles of water to get you started, towels and the usual shower amenities. They had cable too, so you can watch not only Korean channels, but international channels too. The air conditioner was my favorite. It made the room cool almost immediately.
As for the bathroom, that was probably the worst thing about this place. Maybe it was because I was at the bottom level, but it smelled like sewer. Sometimes, it would randomly start smelling. Make sure to close the bathroom door when you can. The smell was off-putting, but I didn't want it to ruin my trip, so i got used to it. Actually, since the place is in the cuts, the surrounding area did smell like sewer, so maybe thats why. I wouldn't rule out this place just because of the smell. Be sure to pack air freshener.
Overall, this hotel was good. They provide free room service and are very willing to help. Be sure that if you don't want them to enter your room that you put the "Do Not Disturb" sign everytime you leave. This place is perfect for people who need a place to sleep after a long day of touring the city. It's very accessible to transportation (the Seoul Metro) and the surrounding area has many restaurants. One stop away is Hongdae, a great place for young people. I will probably return here if it's the most affordable again.
