I stayed at this hotel for three nights on a two day business trip. Like others I arrived tired and late as Incheon is a long way from Seoul. I arrived from London via HK which didn't help. The bus number is 6015 and the Prince Hotel is the last stop from the Airport. The stop is the other side of the road but there are underpasses although with heavily luggage, as I had, it was a challenge. The hotel does have a mini bus which they use to drop guests off at the bus stop as I discovered after I have checked out, asked where the bus stop was and then dragged my luggage through the underpass to see the reception staff dropping off Japanese tourists at the same bus stop. They were checking out the same time as me.

This is a hotel heavily used by Japanese tourists which is fine but the reception desk staff seems to focus mostly on providing tourist advice in Japanese. When I arrived I had to wait 40 minutes to check in and I had a similar experience when I checked out.

The room was fine although I paid to upgrade but didn’t find a flat screen TV or anything special apart from the long black hairs on the bed after the room had been cleaned. The area is great with loads of bars, shops, etc so I would definitely recommend the area although there are plenty of other hotels close by.

Overall I wouldn’t return to this hotel as I felt somewhat overcharged for what I received and slightly undervalued.

Have always wanted to try this hotel since I couldn't book this hotel last time I was in town. Have had a hard time booking it through my travel agent so I thought it must be very popular and had set some expectation. Turned out it was no pain if directly e-mail the hotel and make a reservation on my own.

Anyway - I had requested for a non-smoking room and I was given a room which definitely had left-over smell of cigarettes. The heat was on when we entered the room (it was mid-Feb) and the room was a bit stuffy. The room, was of a good size, however. I called front-desk to inquire whether this was a non-smoking room and they sent some guy up. The guy didn't apologize or explain anything to us but instead just showed us to a different room some higher level up. The room was much smaller and it was still being cleaned but the air-conditioning was definitely running muc better. I was already very tired (we had an early flight in, arrived at 7 and this was 12 when we checked in) so we then decided to stay in the original room.

I figured this hotel caters to mainly Japanese so I would have expected a higher standard for being clean. Turned out the sheets were stained and had marks over. Bed was big and comfy but the pillows were not. Me and my partner ended up having stiff necks.

Concierge was good...location is close to Myungdong but not THAT close, still on the outskirt...there are a few hotels located more central in Myungdong (where we stayed for another two nights) and I preferred the other hotel more. Plus side is an easy walking distance to Namshan Park and to the Seoul Tower.

The hotel is okay and worth the money although I found a better deal so I probably won't stay at this hotel again.

We are Singaporeans on our first visit to Seoul. We booked a RED twin room at USD232 for 2 nights via Internet booking. The room is just sufficient for 2 beds with attached shower & toilet. Coffee/tea making facility is not provided though complimentary small bottles of mineral water were provided. We think the room rate is reasonable for a hotel that is ideally located in Seoul. Myeongdong subway station is just next to the hotel. Within a few stations for 1000won fare, many of the popular locations (shopping, Seoul Tower, palaces) can be reached. We did not add breakfast option in our booking because Korean and fastfood breakfast are readily available nearby at about 5000won per person. Limousine bus service to and from Incheon International airport is available for 9000won per person but the bus stop is at the Sejong Hotel across a wide road from Prince Hotel. However Prince Hotel provides a complimentary shuttle van to this bus stop for its guests. Prior arrangement has to be made with the Hotel for this shuttle van pick up. If taking taxi to the Hotel, suggest you have the address in Korean Language as the taxi drivers hardly speak English. Taxi fares can be exorbitant (by Singapore taxi standards). Since we only used the room for bath and sleep, the limited number of English TV channels was not a serious concern. The reception staff spoke English satisfactorily and very courteous. The area around the hotel seems quite safe.

  • Liked — Location to easily reach popular areas in Seoul
  • Disliked — small room

I arrived at the Incheon airport and took the 605-1 (Myeong-dong) bus (around US$9) to Sejong Hotel. The airport bus stop is at this hotel. Once you arrive here in 45 minutes to an hour from the airport, the Prince Hotel is literally a block away. You have to take the underpass to get across the street to go to the Prince Hotel. Therefore, there are steps you have to go down to and then up to, if you have luggage. You can't cross the street at groundlevel...no crosswalks. FYI, there are many underpass in order to cross the street in Seoul, a few above level crosswalks...that is why traffic is always continuously flowing.

Once I arrived at Prince Hotel, the service was hospitable and some spoke and understood enough english. I stayed in the red room with two twin beds with a window. We didn't have a view therefore we just saw a wall in front of us and saw alittle bit from the sides of the street and mountain. The room was kind of small but yet it was clean, modern, well maintained, and bright with the track lights. There was a flat screen tv too! The bathroom was small but well maintained and modern. There is no tub but a stand up shower. I thought the room was quaint and I felt comfortable and homey.

Service was very helpful with directions to sightseeing locations. The hotel is literally across the street from Myung Dong, the lively shopping district and the subway is literally a step from the hotel. Also a 10 to 15 minute walk to Mount Namsan and cable car to Seoul Tower. There is a bakery right downstairs called Paris Baguette Cafe...delicious pastries for our mornings.

Also when you are returning back to the airport, the hotel provides free car service to go across the street to the Sejong Hotel where the airport bus stop is. Therefore you don't have to take your heavy luggages through the underpass. It's literally a 5 minute drive to go across the street.

I would definitely stay at this hotel again compared to the other neighborhoods I've been to in Seoul. This hotel is convenient and has a nice, busy, shopping night life and restaurants nearby! I felt right at home!

  • Liked — Convenient location to subway, shopping district, nightlife, nice neighborhood, close to airport bus stop
  • Disliked — Can become noisy from the shopping district at nights if your room is facing the street to Myung dong.

My family of 4 ( 2 young children of 6 and 8 years old) had just returned from a 2 weeks holidays in Korea and Hong Kong. We booked air ticket to Seoul and start looking for hotel from internet. After reading some good review at tripadvisor.com, we contact the hotel directly. A very friendly Mr Lee took our booking, we told him we want the quiet end of the hotel that face Seoul tower and Namsan. He told us that the room we requested will come with 1 queen bed and a single bed. We requested for an additional bed. We will a bit worried about the size of the room but to our pleasant surprise when we check in, the room was bigger than we thought! The queen bed was even big enough to sleep our 2 children and an adult, thus we even cancel the additional bed giving us more shopping money!! The location is very convenient. Located just above Myeong Dong subway station and the Myeong Deong shopping area is just across the road.
The complimentary breakfast was good with both western as well as traditional Korean food. Will definitely recommend to families with young children as well as couple. The price is reaonable compare to other similar class hotel in the area. The staff in the hotel can speak reansoable English to communicate with guest which is a relief as not many people in Korea speak English.

  • Liked — Cleanliness, location, excellent service and value for money.
  • Disliked — minimal facilities, no shampoo and conditioner provided.
