“well located, rather dated, good by world standards”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2009

the hotel is well located for tourism- important in busy seoul. We got a deluxe double which is a bit '80s in appearance-but immaculate and a good size- big compated to asia usuals!
No breakfast included and no access to various 'VIP' areas around the hotel which didnt really look that amazing. Service desk really friendly and helpful.
if you are used to the amazing hotels all around Asia you would not give it a 5 star- its a 4 star but a very good one. Would recommend.
good pool (included) and korean type spa- plunge pools, salt scrubs etc- extra, quite interesting.

I stayed here for 4 nights for a business conference. It's not a luxury hotel, but a very good 4-star hotel. Rooms are decent sized, well equipped. I was given a club room (without being able to use the club lounge), which allowed free internet in my room.
The breakfast (included in my rate) was very copious.
Staff went out of their way to be helpful, whether at the front desk or the banqueting service for the conference.
One of the outstanding features is the fitness studio/swimming pool on the top floor of the annex. One of the best equipped studios I have ever seen in a hotel, with great views over the city.

The Seoul Plaza has possibly the best location in Seoul. You can walk to the financial district, Myeongdong, Insadong, Namsan Park, Seoul Station, Namdaemun Market and the Royal Palaces.

The building is a bit dated compared to other five stars in Seoul and it does not have the 'wow' factor you can have somehwere else, but service is amazing, rooms are spacious and very well appointed and staff is professional and friendly.

Seoul Plaza has a number of restaurants that are quite expensive for Korean standards but are reasonably priced compared to U.S. and Europe. Breakfast is super!

It is definitely a business hotel even if it is close to the main shopping districts and tourist attractions and some areas (the continental style bar/pub, the meeting room we used, the fitness center) look dated, but according to front desk agents they will have a big refurbishment soon

Very nice to "come home" to the Plaza after a day in bustling Seoul. Location is excellent for visitors. Service people went out of their way to be helpful. I'm usually stingy with 5 stars, but we got an unsolicited upgrade to a suite and complimentary breakfast buffet, so that extra mile earns it. Not inexpensive, but rates compare favorably to others of similar quality and location. Would happily return!

I know this hotel from many years..........it is not the most modern, it is not the most glamour or High tech but it has the best service.
Personel recognize you and call you by name , it is very attentive and try to satisfy your request: last time my baggage went lost I arrive at the Hotel at 1.30 AM (!!) and I had my suit perfectly washed and pressed for the 7 AM in the morning.

that's 5 stars service.

Kamsahamnida Seoul Plaza!

On the whole I was very satisfied with Seoul Plaza. I staid there for 4 nights at the invitation of a Korean university. It's in a very central location. I staid on a club floor so I was given the free breakfast. They also had snacks available in the clubroom 24 hours a day. The breakfast was pretty good. The service was equal to the best I have ever encountered in any hotel although the staff sometimes didn't know as much about Seoul in general as you would expect them to. (One of the doormen told me the wrong subway station for a well-known bookstore). Still, if I needed anything they were at my room in minutes. The rooms were very clean. The only downside is that this is an older hotel. While it is well kept and still looks attractive, some of the cutting edge luxuries (super comfortable beds, hd televisions, whirlpool baths) that one finds in other similarly priced hotels in Asia were not there. This is the only reason I cannot give it five stars. Still I would stay there again.
